Oh, sheesh, that's fine. The dang plane tickets were over 1000 bucks, no sense skimping on 50 bucks for lunch/dinner. Most of it is being paid for by people other than me anyway, so what the hey =-]

Thai Tom? That's the one every UW student seems to fall in love with. I missed the appeal, but every other person in the U-District seems to swoon over it.

There is Thai everywhere here. Now the question is... How much pho do you had in the past?

Edit: my fav thai is Golden Singha just south of the Space Needle, across from the tv studio that ABC pretends is a hospital for Grey's Anatomy.

I did not know that. So that would push the costs to around an extra $64,000 over three years. Is UW worth the saved money compared to the opportunities offered by a T-14?

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY

Tuition and fees vary depending on whether a student is a resident of Washington or not. To be classified or reclassified as a resident for tuition and fee purposes, a student must establish a bona fide domicile in the state of Washington for purposes other than educational for the period of one year immediately prior to classification as a resident. A nonresident student who is enrolled for more than six credits a quarter will be presumed to be in the state of Washington for primarily educational purposes. Such period of enrollment shall not count toward the establishment of a bona fide domicile of one year in this state, unless the student proves that he or she has, in fact, established a bona fide domicile in this state primarily for purposes other than educational.

OK, except the 2L/3L waiver negates the need for employment. All you have to do is establish "bona fide domicile" crap and you receive in-state tuition without being an in-state "resident" proper. I've already been over this a half dozen times with people from UW including a conversation on the phone w/ a Fin Aid guru there and she went line by line with me on it.

It is pretty difficult to grasp at first. WA state is pretty crazy w/r/t residency, and I thought moving to CA was freaking hard!

In-state tuition is easily achievable. Residency is not. Luckily, to save moolah, in-state tution is all you need (makes sense!). Therefore, UW is quite cheap after the first year if you are not currently a resident.

3 years tuition for WA res is ~75k while 3 years for an out of state that gets the tuition waiver for 2L/3L is ~87k. Not a terrible sticker price.

Trying not to sound cocky, but my 169/evergreen plus the super fast turnaround (two weeks from IR to mailing) makes me pretty sure good news is in the mail... Immaterial for a lot of us, because part of the 2L/3L waiver is that you cannot receive state-based aid (schollies and grants...) while receiving the waiver.

Thankfully, the 50% veteran tuition reduction does not count

Not sure, but if you look at the applicant from the 09 cycle on LSN there were only 7 people who listed getting money and 4 of them were URM. I think UW is pretty stingy with scholarships.

Isn't that the case w/ most state schools, even the flagship schools? I mean, Hastings, Davis, LA and Berkeley are similarly really stingy (For CA).
