What I've seen from obsessively looking at LSN etc. is that they haven't really accepted many people with lower than a 154, no matter what their gpa is. Really hope that's not the case though. 154 you're cool, 153....wait listed.

Well somebody earlier said that when they called about the waitlist they were told there weren't that many people on the waitlist, and since scholarship info came out this week there's a good bit of people who may be withdrawing soon, so I would say that all hope is not lost on the waitlist.

I'm thinking of sending one tomorrow. Do you know if it's acceptable to send an additional full page paper in your LOCI? I'd like to send the supplemental paper I sent to U of H, but if they're not going to read the whole thing I'd rather just sum it up in an e-mail.

Does it add information that wasn't in your application and has occurred since your application? If so, send it, if not, it probably won't help much.

Thanks, yeah they told me there were 50 people on it. That sounds small to me, but I don't know anyone else that's going to law school or has gone through this process, so it's kind of hard to gauge. It's just the wait that's making me a neurotic mess.

I heard that they were running behind, and their first seat deposit isn't due until April 15th. So there's a good chance that they just haven't gotten to yours yet. But you could always call and ask if they've finished rendering decisions. The guy I talked to was pretty nice.

The girl I talked to said that I should not call and ask for my app status, or questions regarding my apps. If the status checker has not changed, then there has been no change on my application

Call back, and say that a $168,000 dollar decision (yes, thats the estimated cost by STCL --49,000--plus the summers, for 3 years) merits a f**king decision BEFORE the deadlines for most schools, 4-1-11.

Right after you graduate you get a job doing document review for 35K/yr. Then you miss a few payments, and you get the bill for $90945680376837683476945.00

I think that if you want to be an attorney, you want to go to STCL (whether from lack of choices, location, etc) - then the loan is worth it. If being a lawyer is what you want to do then you will eventually figure out/pay off/ etc the loan situation. Make the most of it! You're going to be an attorney

160,000 plus incidentals. .. Nope. 100,000 possibly. That would take the TEG and a decent merit award, and trying to get a decent summer gig, and roomate.

Guys, the interest on 150K alone is around 10-12 THOUSAND. Yes that's right you could make 1000 dollar payments a month starting at graduation and not put one dent in the principle. The average starting salaries aren't 70k. Even if they are try making 70k then pay 1500 a month to loans. Factor in taxes and try to live on that. You'll probably be near the poverty line.

I know I'm not txadv11, but the loan scares me to death, personally. If I can't keep things under $100k, I will be VERY. nervous.

I know I'm not txadv11, but the loan scares me to death, personally. If I can't keep things under $100k, I will be VERY. nervous.

I feel the same way! I just don't want to end up like any of those people in the articles waiting tables trying to pay off their loans. It's such a scary decision to make

Is the 12,400 scholarship as much as South Texas will do? Has anyone heard of negotiating higher than this amount?
