You can transfer to FT after 1 year of PT. You don't get to pick your classes first year, so you can't load up on hours.Beestinga wrote:does anyone know about making the switch from PT to FT? can you do that at UH? How does it work? can you do it at semester? I don't actually want to be a PT student - I just knew I didn't have the numbers to make it in FT.
Can I be technically classified as PT but just load up on hours?

Congratulations from University of Houston Law Center
now I've got to get seat deposits, Financial aid, enrollment forms, and all of that stuff squared away with lightning speed, while at the same time undoing all of those things at South Texas.

Congrats everyone!
Did anyone get pulled off of the FT waitlist today or was it just PT applicants?

I did email the admissions people and got a reply pretty quick, but its vague...gives me hope though
Dear UHPT:
Good afternoon! Thank you for contacting us and your ongoing interest in the University of Houston Part Time JD Program. We are still in the admissions process and will communicate our decisions to students via email; the online status checker and “snail mail.”

Re: University of Houston 2011
Does anyone know tuition rates for 2011-2012? On the website I can only find 2010-2011.
I'm mainly interested in PT. If no one knows specifics, does anyone know about any rumored hikes, or status quo?

ETA: From an attachment they included, I *think* PT will be about 10k less than that, but I can't say for certain. I'm judging that solely based on the difference in the COA between the FT/PT.I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of next year’s tuition and fee schedule. I am pleased to share with you that the Board of Regents has voted on the new rates, and despite the decrease in state funding, the university was able to keep the increase to less than 5%.
Estimated 2011-2012 tuition & fees for Texas residents (for 30 hours)- $27,802.41
Estimated 2011-2012 tuition & fees for non-residents (for 30 hours)- $38,477,71

Re: University of Houston 2011
Thanks. I'm guessing these are the first year student rates? On the website they have 2 different rates, those for first year students and those for post-first year students.
The difference between post-first year rates from 2010-2011 and those listed in your email are quite a bit more than a 5% increase, so I'm guessing post-first year rates for 2011-2012 are slightly lower than those you posted, and about 5% over last year.
Thanks alot.

Returning students went up like 20 or 30 dollars a credit hour... not too bad. I'm glad the tuition is what it is! lolbartleby wrote:nah, FT last year for entering class was 26,xxx so it only went up a 1k or so. less than 5%. not sure about 2L and 3L though.

I've been waitlisted as of 6/14. Prior to that my status was 'file in review' starting somewhere around early May. I've applied for the part time program. I guess this requires more...waiting.
