Getting exceedingly nervous. I thought most decisions were made much later and the longer I don't hear back, the more convinced I am on a waitlist forever.... I have a 169, 3.44 do they hate splitters or something?

Oy. If they hate you, I just need to abandon all hope. But I do wish you good luck. Are you on a waitlist now, or just haven't heard anything?

Just nothing, no official decision.

Got the packet today. $12k/year scholarship. Meh. Not worth considering when the anticipated cost is ~50k/year.

It's about 34k per year if you're Out-of-State. With a 12k scholarship, 22k per year. COL should probably be around 15k?...

I was thinking $50k/yr sounded a little high, but thought maybe I was missing something.

I suppose it could reach 50k - well, it easily could. It all depends on how much one spends and where their priorities are....or if there are other factors (health). But yeah, I think 50k sounds pretty high as well. Really, we should just be looking at what tuition would be at W&M compared to other schools for Flips88. And 22k is going to be hard to beat.

Ah, well there you go. We're factoring in the 12k scholarship. With the scholarship, it's around 38k per year.

I'm in at Wisconsin-Madison as well. Still haven't gotten their admission packet with scholly info. I'm above both their 75ths whereas at W&M I'm median LSAT & >75th GPA

They're pretty stingy with the scholarships but the tuition is pretty cheap, too. I got $10k/year and the total 3 year price of WM is only about $2k more than Illinois, who gave me $30k/year. I might try negotiating anyway, though, we'll see.

I wouldn't be surprised if those living figures are inflated a bit, TBH. Considering housing can be had for $5500-6500 a year, especially if you're living on campus, it's hard to believe you couldn't get by on less than $8500 a year in other costs.

By the way, does anyone know what the deal with the other fellowships are (Bill or Rights, Election, Technology, etc). I read recently they're not decided until March, but do they come with additional money?

Yeah, IIRC, most schools inflate living costs so that students can put that number down for financial aid and get enough money to live comfortably.

I know someone who didn't apply for any of the special programs and said she got a "grad fellowship" with extra money. Since it wasn't at one of the centers I'm not sure whether or not that will be consistent with the specific programs.

Nah, I got in with virtually the same GPA with $$. My LSAT is better though.

I'm guessing that a lot of the people that applied to W&M also applied to W&L. I'm visiting both next month, but does anyone that's been to both have any thoughts comparing them? I have a slightly better offer at W&L, but not enough to be a deciding factor.

Question here (and apologies if this has been answered previously): does the W&M status updater change? I've got the Application Received and Complete emails, which show up under the Mailings header, but under Status it's a big fat blank. Applied 12/22, Received 1/3, Complete 1/4.

Once mine went complete, I believe it stayed blank until it said "Congrats blah blah" down at the bottom left.

I visited both and I felt that W&M has more options/businesses available then W&L.... I also kinda liked the outlet mall that was close to W&M (5% sales tax is amazing compared to the 9.75% that I have to pay). I think that since many tourists visit the area there is naturally more commerce.

I definitely got a "small town" type vibe at W&L. During the interview, the person I spoke with mentioned that everyone's very close and like to interact with one another/do stuff together. He mentioned flag football and how most of the students play it during Friday afternoons.

In with 18k a year; URM, LSAT 171, UGPA 3.1. Not to look a gifthorse in the mouth, but I was hoping for a little bit more money. Still waiting on Washington & Lee's scholarship letter...

Seems they are being rather stingy with scholarship.

Emailed them over the weekend and brought up a bigger scholarship at a similarly ranked school, and they gave me an extra $10k a year. Incredibly impressed.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
