Still complete as of 11/8. I think USC has made it their personal mission to send me straight to the loony bin with a straight jacket.jman77 wrote:I am still complete 11/22, not even UR yet. What's going on here?

After I decided to not apply to the Rothman I guess it's pretty much over for me. I was considering withdrawing now, but should I contribute to USC's ranking score? What do you think?JakeL wrote:Complete since 10/20. I am just going to consider this application over with.

Damn Philly I thought you woulda applied for the Rothman for sure! It seems right in your wheelhouse, plus a free weekend to LA isn't too bad if you had the time for it.r6_philly wrote:After I decided to not apply to the Rothman I guess it's pretty much over for me. I say withdraw because you know you would never go for sub-full scholly, right?
(I also say withdraw so I have a high chance of getting in/getting a scholly!

Re: USC 2011
I've been wondering, if they fly you out will they make you sign some kind of binding thing like "if offered Rothman I agree to come to USC in fall 2011"? Otherwise, it sounds potentially inefficient for them. If I were them, I'd want to know that all 4 people I'm spending 1-2000 dollars on are in it 100% of the way, at least within the framework of an offer within 7-10 days or something like that. But there'd at least be some protection on both sides that way. Anyone know of how this works? Not that I'm expecting an invite...

I heavily doubt it, but I bet indicating your absolute attendance if offered the scholarship is probably a condition on who they choose out of the "4" they fly out.mr_toad wrote:I've been wondering, if they fly you out will they make you sign some kind of binding thing like "if offered Rothman I agree to come to USC in fall 2011"? These law schools (especially the top private ones) have a big bankroll. I'm sure USC has no problem trying to convince their top applicants to choose them at full ride over the T6-10 schools they probably got into.

I would doubt that they do this as a precondition of getting an interview. The endowment for the scholarship probably stipulates something about selecting candidates through a process that includes an interview, so they have to use some of the funds to fly people out.mr_toad wrote:I've been wondering, if they fly you out will they make you sign some kind of binding thing like "if offered Rothman I agree to come to USC in fall 2011"? Re: USC 2011
My greatest fear in the admissions process (and I hope that this is an invalid one) is that I come from (without giving away which one) "top feeder school" as listed on the USC Law statistics page. So while my LSAT is solid, and my GPA is *decent* I'm worried that I'll be hampered by comparisons to my classmates (some of whom are ridiculous). Even though my GPA is all right, I'm barely, just barely, outside the top 50% (not top 50% university-wide, mind you, just in the law school applicant pool at my school). Kinda sucks cause my school is HUGE and TONS of people apply to law school. Crap.

Dear USC,
I know I put up with UCLA's mind games but I expected you to be more straightforward.
You were the first school I applied to and I have already heard back from UT Austin, GW, WUSTL, and IUIC eta: and UGA. I would give up all those for you, USC. I'm holding out for you. Please update my status checker to DF soon
Lots of Love,
JJ

Dear USC,
Please stop toying with my heart. If you are going to reject me, could you like, just do it real quick? Like a bandaid? It would be really awesome if you can just make that happen for me, thanks. And if you're planning on accepting me, I'll wait it out for you, baby, take your time.
Love (unless you plan on rejecting me, then hate),
