Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Hi everyone...I asked this the other day and wanted to check if anyone knew the answer...In previous cycles has anyone been admitted (not off the WL) AFTER the second accepted students weekend?

Yes. In 2012, people were accepted until April 27th which, AFAIK, was after the second admitted students' weekend. There were also a lot of acceptances on April 18th, which was also post-ASW.lizzieb49 wrote:Hi everyone...I asked this the other day and wanted to check if anyone knew the answer...In previous cycles has anyone been admitted (not off the WL) AFTER the second accepted students weekend?

On a similar note, will the admissions office be handing out any more JS1s (again for applicants who are not waitlisted)?

I'm also in a position where I haven't heard anything from HLS...but I can't see how offering more JS1s without a WL at this point makes sense for HLS. From one POV, the WL allows HLS to 'clear its ledger', offer JS2s where necessary and then buy itself time over the summer to conduct another 'mini-cycle' by offering JS2s to WL JS1.5ers, or JS1s to WL JS0ers...since HLS doesn't YP, the WL always appeared to me as that point where the class was already good to go, and HLS is just WL some folks to buy time to correct for those withdrawing or taking $$$ elsewhere, etc.peaches9848 wrote:On a similar note, will the admissions office be handing out any more JS1s (again for applicants who are not waitlisted)?
For JSilence people like us...I think our only two options are WL or Ding...

I'll just chime in to say that I went complete just over a week ago having applied 2/27 and taken the February test. I have not received a JS1 yet but you all should remember that there WILL be late applicants and February takers who will gain admittance this cycle and who have not yet received a JS1.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Though, since they've been making some of us wait for so long, I'm hoping they lean more towards the WL

My understanding is that if you ask by May 1, it's pretty much automatic as long as you have a plan to do something more productive than eat cheetos and play guitar hero for a year. After May 1 you can still be granted a deferral, but the bar is meaningfully higher.Gary wrote:Anyone know the deadline to defer HLS?

Just as an FYI, the first JS2's on what drawstring thinks is the equivalent day of last year came around 2pm per TLS.

I was away from my computer all weekend, but I also got waitlisted on Friday (at about 2:30 EST). Finally my first response (sort of) from HYS!
Complete mid-October, no JS1. LSAT just above 25th, GPA just below 50th.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
this is (basically--i'm not counting the weekend) the first day in 3.5 months where i've woken up and not had to think "will there be JS2s today?"
that, though it has its downsides, is a bit of a relief
