Egotism Alert for what follows (apologies in advance):

I just won the Stanford award for scholastic achievement (top 25 students in the class, basically about the top 1.5%.) It's so thrilling!!!

Sorry, but I just had to post it.

Yeah but with a 4.1 LSAC GPA, who would get it if you didn't? I mean, if 4.1 doesn't count in the top 1.5%, then I cringe at the degree of grade inflation at Stanford.

On LSN, several SLS rejections were reported over the last 24 hours.

Maybe it's your dedication to SLS, Dignan, but for whatever reason I'm rooting harder for you to get in than I am for anyone but maybe V6 and BioEBear.

At the beginning of this process, SLS was my #1 choice. As time passes, and as I learn more about the schools to which I applied, I have become all the more convinced that SLS has the best learning environment of any law school in the country, at least for me. On my own list, SLS was initially tied with YLS and a tick ahead of HLS; now, it's a tick ahead of YLS and way ahead of HLS.

Despite the fact that I want SLS more than ever, I am more prepared than before for a rejection. I realize that I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the excellent law schools that have already accepted me. Even if I end up at CLS or Berkeley or U of C, I will still have a great shot at establishing the career that I want.

It's a new award, apparently, called the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement. At first, I thought that I got the big Sterling Award and reacted with "wut? how does the ultimate nerd get that one?" Then, I looked it up and saw that there's this other award, much better suited to me.

They didn't have anything else worthy of Managamy so they had to come up with something new. It's also a one-time-only award since the odds of another Managamy coming along in the next millenium is slim to none

Yeah, actually. A friend of mine from freshman year called me last night to answer questions/convince me.

HLS, though, also managed to pick/find my best friend there. I told JR that I'd hear plenty from her, so he's finding another person.

You can probably stop looking at noon. So far, it seems that all Friday calls go out in the morning. There have been a couple of midweek calls that went out early in the afternoon, but they're the exception. Dean Faye seems to be a morning person.

I'm not trying to kill your dreams; I'm just trying to increase your chances of having an enjoyable and carefree afternoon. As someone who has the same dream as you, I've learned that it's not much fun to neurotically check my phone for hours on end.
