Submitted scholly negotiation form and went from $0 to in-state equalizer plus small annual scholarship. I had a blast at ASD and absolutely loved Austin, but I think my COA is still a little too high to make it a feasible option

When did you submit?

I'm about to submit mine now. Really need a good bump to consider going since I'm essentially looking at sticker price right now at in-state tuition.

Still under review as well. My guess is deposit deadline will be extended a week or 2 to give those that get accepted now time to decide/hear about $cholly. I also think there'll be a lot of movement with people withdrawing before/after the 7th, but who knows lol...

Submitted my renegotiation recently w/ my leverage coming from a few offers, but most notably from my huge WUSTL scholly. I feel like they probably see a lot of similar renegotiation requests- they're similarly ranked schools, and WUSTL is very generous. Will update you when I have a response.

For anybody in admission reading these forms: The UT scholarship thing is really annoying and a large turn off when considering the school. I really like UT, but you could please not do this?

just got in via phone call, 4:50 EST. submitted a solicited "Why Texas?" 6 days ago. they just acknowledged that they received it this morning.

Stats are 167, GPA non-reportable (international, superior), international work experience and post-graduate degrees. Application submitted end of February; received request to submit "Why Texas" essay (I'm out of state) in late March. Got email this morning confirming receipt of my essay and that I would "hear soon" regarding my application. In six hours later via phone call. Scholarship info (if applicable) in the mail within 2 weeks, though that I take it is a standard line and does not reflect everyone's experience in the thread here.

LSAT 168, GPA 3.78, Ivy undergrad, 3 yrs work experience, URM, Austin native (my whole "Why Texas?" essay was about how i'm a 6th generation Texan lol)

Texas resident who loved UT but feel really low-balled compared to T6 offers even after consideration. Checking out and withdrew my application yesterday. Good luck to everybody, hopefully the spot goes to one of you all! Obviously kinda salty because I loved UT lol.

I'm a Tex res too and got low balled hard with the initial offer and negotiation. My LSAT is low, but URMs from previous cycles with similar numbers or lower and same URM as me got a lot more money

I'm also a resident, and I was holding out hope that Texas would pull through for me because it seems like a great school! Unfortunately, now that I have my updated offer back, I'm also sorely disappointed and, yes, salty.

I'm reluctant to withdraw because I loved UT, but I'm also feeling burned by the initial and continued low-ball and don't think I can make this one work financially. Good luck to everyone else!

Well darn. My solicited Why Texas that I sent in a few days ago also got a response this morning that just said that it will be added to my file. No positive word of a decision soon or a call granting me admission. I guess I wasn't too persuasive in my essay...

Yea, I was in the same situation. She just mentioned that they are just putting it into my file for further consideration. I guess my essay sort of sucked. I thought I was really sincere. Anyway, I have not heard back despite having submitted the Why Texas essay for more than a week. Congrats to all!
