Congrats on all of you going UR2 but do we know if there is even any significance? I've been interviewed and I'm still UR1.Dovaking wrote:Submitted early November, went UR 2 a few days ago.

As an applicant on his second cycle, I have found that there is no rhyme or reason to the particularities of this process. I recommend sitting back and enjoying your holiday. Addiction to this chaos can really sour a cycle you should otherwise be trying to enjoy.notsolawful wrote:Congrats on all of you going UR2 but do we know if there is even any significance? I've been UR2 for almost two weeks, no interview request yet. I'm not really sure what makes them change folks to UR2 lolnotsolawful wrote:Congrats on all of you going UR2 but do we know if there is even any significance? Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Yeah I was super surprised, I think my dates went submit 11/28, complete and UR 11/29, UR2 12/1, and invited to interview 12/7. Also not a virginia resident. Given my numbers I shouldn't have been a very compelling candidate, but it's a very welcome surprise!!Keilz wrote:Damn when did you submit? Super fast turnaround. Also, does anyone know if scholly information comes in the packet/how generous UVA is?

Just curious, I've seen how much you've liked UVA on TLS and was wondering what specifically you like if you don't mind sharing? I am just curiousSweetTort wrote:I keep falling more and more in love with UVA.

So, the first thing that pulled me to it was just the straight up cost/employment figures. I noticed on LSN that UVA was one of the most consistent in terms of full rides for certain numbers. Additionally, for clerking, it's the best option outside of HYS. So, that was 80% of my reason.
However, after touring, I fell in love because everyone there was smart, happy, and NICE. It just seems like an awesome place to spend three years, especially since at the end of the three you will probably have a good job.

Seriously though, while I haven't visited, the community at UVA seems absolutely incredible. At first I was a bit worried about lay prestige, but I'm sorta starting to realize how silly that is in comparison to my happiness and career.SweetTort wrote:Keilz wrote:Just curious, I've seen how much you've liked UVA on TLS and was wondering what specifically you like if you don't mind sharing? My application went complete on 11/18 and was under review on the same date. However, no more update after that... Is it very strange? (Was I automatically put in the reject pool?)

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I wouldn't speculate anything regarding UR1/UR2 because it's just so different for everybody. I also went UR1 11/18 and haven't heard a peep since then, but I also know people who went UR1 after us and got admitted, and people who went UR1 before us and still hasn't heard anything since then either. There are people with strong numbers in the latter group as well who wrote Why X for UVA, so we'll just have to wait and see what all this means!okf731 wrote:My application went complete on 11/18 and was under review on the same date.
