When I went to admitted students day, I stayed with a 1L who got in off the waitlist, and she told me she got a scholarship. I don't know how much they gave her, but it wasn't nothing.lawyersHATEhim wrote:So I got the WL a month or so back. Does that guarantee no scholarship? Almost full ride to emory so a little surprised

GPA above 75th, LSAT between 25-50th. I was wait listed in February. Thoughts?

If you look at lawschoolnumbers for last year's admissions, sort by "status" and go to the 5th page, you can see some people who were accepted off the waitlist and what their scholarship amount (if any) was. http://vanderbilt.lawschoolnumbers.com/ ... ort=status
Out of the 23 people accepted off the waitlist, 16 were offered scholarships (that they reported). Only one below 30k, and that person's LSAT was a few points below 25%. Going by last year's numbers, there is definitely a change for a scholarship. I find the waitlist statistics from last year pretty encouraging actually. But the only thing is, they have been soooo slow this year with admissions that I think with the WL you'll have to be pretty patient.

Anybody still waiting on an initial decision, or is it just me?

I still have not received a response. Went complete 3/24/16...and that is all the checker says. I am afraid to poke the bear by asking for a status because in my experience, poking the bear gets an instant denial within hours of the poking.

I still haven't heard yet. I might poke the bear since I won't be attending this year anyway.

I'm still waiting--even after I emailed them last week, radio silence. Anyone else still in initial decision limbo?

I just heard back with a decision (no response to my previous email). They put me on a "priority waitlist" saying that the class was "oversubscribed," but that they expect spaces to open up following the upcoming second deposit deadline--June 15. The offered me the opportunity to stay on the waitlist or for deferred enrollment in 2017 (binding). Since I already accepted a spot in a one-year master's program I won't accept the offers and will instead reapply. Really, I waited so long to see if I had a shot and with this result feel confident that if I reapply early next year can get it.PartyMcFly wrote:Did they ever get back to you?GnosisExchange wrote:I'm still waiting--even after I emailed them last week, radio silence. Nothing. It'll probably be the 2nd or 3rd week of July before movement happens.PartyMcFly wrote:Anyone hear anything or see any movement after the second deadline?

Some friends (rising 2Ls) were accepted off the WL around that time.Bunks wrote:Where have you heard that?lebeaudiable wrote:Nothing. It'll probably be the 2nd or 3rd week of July before movement happens.PartyMcFly wrote:Anyone hear anything or see any movement after the second deadline?

I'm glad to hear that. I was losing hope that they'd ever get to the WL at all this yearlebeaudiable wrote:Some friends (rising 2Ls) were accepted off the WL around that time.Bunks wrote:Where have you heard that?lebeaudiable wrote:Nothing. Probably won't be much of a movement since their current class is oversubscribed.PartyMcFly wrote:I'm glad to hear that.
