I think he's kidding.coldmonkey13 wrote:No idea if you're kidding but there hasn't been a ton of movement and I wouldn't expect there to be. Harvard can take their time. A friend of mine had a 3.85/175 last year and didn't hear anything till March after a late November application.clarf wrote:Went complete 12/4. No interview request. RIP Harvard dream.
I went complete first week of October, but didn't hear anything until December.

This isn't waiting. This is pretty much summer camp compared to the waiter's threads.

Thanks @Cantorb for your thoughtful comment! Congrats on HLS!
I think there are legitimate reasons to choose HLS over YLS (although very few people do), and you also raise some valid points.
I think the reason I'm going to do YLS is in the first sentence of your comment- "Yale is clearly the better law school" to quote you directly- and to me that's what is most important. But I completely understand why other people would prioritize other things. When I'm struggling in New Haven and you are in beautiful Boston/Cambridge, maybe I will regret not taking your advice haha!

I was joking around: one might expect someone who supports a candidate that opposes wealth inequality for individuals to oppose wealth inequality for grad schools.Li'l Sebastian wrote:Why is that?ObiWahooKenobi wrote:I'm betting Li'l Sebastian is voting for Bernie.Li'l Sebastian wrote:That endowment though.

This is totally non-obvious, and given real wage stagnation, education-related debt, and the decline in housing affordability, you should probably do a bit more to back up your argumentlunixer wrote:just about everybody has awesome quality of life and smartphone and refrigerators and is doing far better than when wealth was more evenly distributedLi'l Sebastian wrote:Why is that?ObiWahooKenobi wrote:I'm betting Li'l Sebastian is voting for Bernie.Li'l Sebastian wrote:That endowment though.

Not really sure it's the size of the endowment that matters, but the endowment per capita and the endowment payout rate. What's the point of a huge endowment if per student you get nothing?
Also not sure of the value of endowment per capita as a metric by itself. Consider an undergrad example: Princeton has an endowment per capita substantially higher than Harvard, highest in world actually. (Because Princeton is $20 billion and Harvard is $37 billion but Princeton has many fewer students). Despite the big difference in endowments per capita, I doubt many people choose Princeton over Harvard for undergrad.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.
