Thanks @Cantorb for your thoughtful comment! Congrats on HLS!

I think there are legitimate reasons to choose HLS over YLS (although very few people do), and you also raise some valid points.

I think the reason I'm going to do YLS is in the first sentence of your comment- "Yale is clearly the better law school" to quote you directly- and to me that's what is most important. But I completely understand why other people would prioritize other things. When I'm struggling in New Haven and you are in beautiful Boston/Cambridge, maybe I will regret not taking your advice haha!

I was joking around: one might expect someone who supports a candidate that opposes wealth inequality for individuals to oppose wealth inequality for grad schools.

just about everybody has awesome quality of life and smartphone and refrigerators and is doing far better than when wealth was more evenly distributed

This is totally non-obvious, and given real wage stagnation, education-related debt, and the decline in housing affordability, you should probably do a bit more to back up your argument

Not really sure it's the size of the endowment that matters, but the endowment per capita and the endowment payout rate. What's the point of a huge endowment if per student you get nothing?

Also not sure of the value of endowment per capita as a metric by itself. Consider an undergrad example: Princeton has an endowment per capita substantially higher than Harvard, highest in world actually. (Because Princeton is $20 billion and Harvard is $37 billion but Princeton has many fewer students). Despite the big difference in endowments per capita, I doubt many people choose Princeton over Harvard for undergrad.
