Can somebody explain to me what is going on? Or did the previous user just not check his status until recently? For a while it seemed that they were sending out dings chronologically (nearing the beginning of January), but now this anomalous mid-November complete date surfaces? Is there a method to this madness (cheers to those who can catch the allusion, albeit contrived)?!

Looking at last year's LSN it seems like they do double-back for dings, which I guess means I'll be holding my breath for the next month and a half

How long does it take from DLS to getting noticed by email or mail?

My friend applied last year and said he received ding letter in email about one day after DLS.

I received the letter in the mail yesterday. Complete date 1/5/2015.

They haven't gotten to us yet. The user who went complete 1/5 in Jan is the latest DLS + rejection, but it could be an anomaly like the Dec rejection. Right now I'm placing Stanford on being around mid/late December completes. March is historically (based off of one year, aka last year's Stanford thread lol) a bad month, because there are more rejections than admits (IIRC, last year admissions didn't pick up until the end of March). Sigh.

They should have already gone through the first review of late applicants, no? Stanford does rolling admissions -- it accepts the candidates it wants to accept, and when it finishes it goes through them again, this time sending rejections, thereby diminishing the applicant pool. After that process I think it devolves into strangeness lol.

So if you're skipped over for both acceptance and rejection, does that mean waitlist or do they do a second pass of acceptances?

The law school uses a rolling admissions process, acting upon applications throughout the admissions season as they are completed. However, some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. This second review occurs in April, at which time the class will be filled. (A small number of applications will be held for possible use in filling vacancies that may occur during the summer.)

The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny, or wait list) by April 30.

To secure a place in the entering class, applicants accepted for admission must pay a deposit.

Still UR from 1/17. Visited the campus while I was in California last week and spoke to some students and faculty, and everyone seemed genuinely happy and approachable, even during finals! Here's to still being looked at!
