Sorry to hear, brah. I'm sure you have good options lined up. Did you just receive the letter, or did you receive DLS today and call to inquire about actual status? Complete date?

I've been checking daily, so no idea!

Looking at last year's LSN it seems like they do double-back for dings, which I guess means I'll be holding my breath for the next month and a half :?

How long does it take from DLS to getting noticed by email or mail?

My friend applied last year and said he received ding letter in email about one day after DLS.

Sorry for being completely new and behind on this forum. Does it ever say anything other than "Your file has been submitted for review?" or DLS?

does not. you can find 'what to expect' thread and it will tell you that info for most schools...

I feel like there's an adcomm at Stanford, reading this thread and laughing like a villain, tapping their fingers together and all. This waiting, especially for the October applicants, is just cruel.

Really, really sorry for the intrusiveness; it's just that your complete date coincides with mine, with mine being 1/8. Just shot you a PM!

Can confirm, waiting since October is brutal
But not if they're just waiting until they have a spare moment from marveling over my app to call me!

I like your optimism. I can't imagine. I'm losing it and I was in late Jan.

They haven't gotten to us yet. The user who went complete 1/5 in Jan is the latest DLS + rejection, but it could be an anomaly like the Dec rejection. Right now I'm placing Stanford on being around mid/late December completes. March is historically (based off of one year, aka last year's Stanford thread lol) a bad month, because there are more rejections than admits (IIRC, last year admissions didn't pick up until the end of March). Sigh. :(

Any idea when they got to the later applicants from the last forum? I got dinged by Berkeley today  Hoping that's not a sign of the rest of my cycle. Still waiting on NYU as well.

They should have already gone through the first review of late applicants, no? Stanford does rolling admissions -- it accepts the candidates it wants to accept, and when it finishes it goes through them again, this time sending rejections, thereby diminishing the applicant pool. After that process I think it devolves into strangeness lol.

So if you're skipped over for both acceptance and rejection, does that mean waitlist or do they do a second pass of acceptances?

SLS Web site wrote:The law school uses a rolling admissions process, acting upon applications throughout the admissions season as they are completed. However, some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. This second review occurs in April, at which time the class will be filled. (A small number of applications will be held for possible use in filling vacancies that may occur during the summer.)

The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny, or wait list) by April 30.

To secure a place in the entering class, applicants accepted for admission must pay a deposit.

DLS today (I think? I didn't notice the message at first because I was expecting it in the "Mailings" section, and instead it showed up at the top of the page).

Went complete on 1/9. Here's hoping they might be starting their WL mailings.

DLS today. Nice to know, at least. I'd started wondering if they might've used my application to line a bird cage or something.

Still UR from 1/17. Visited the campus while I was in California last week and spoke to some students and faculty, and everyone seemed genuinely happy and approachable, even during finals! Here's to still being looked at!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
