Thanks for your input! One more question: Do we need to attach a copy of our other offers? It doesn't say so on the website, but I don't want to delay my request further by not doing it right!

Well, some of my offers are technically expired. They posted on the facebook group that this is okay, but I am sure that I lose some leverage because of it. So I would rather not attach if it's not required.NoBladesNoBows wrote:I would. No reason not to.New_Texan wrote:Thanks for your input! Yes, they'll want proof. I took a screenshot of the offer emails I used and it was fine.New_Texan wrote:Thanks for your input! One more question: Do we need to attach a copy of our other offers? It doesn't say so on the website, but I don't want to delay my request further by not doing it right!

Thank you!! That was great advice. Going to write that letter now *fingers crossed*NoBladesNoBows wrote:I personally think that by telling them that you don't really have anything to lose. Unless you expect to get a big award from somewhere else that you could use to negotiate, it doesn't seem like you're going to hurt yourself any. Because of what we were talking about above (worried about medians and who will withdraw, etc.), if you really convince them that you would go with a bit more money (without seeming desperate) it is definitely going to hold weight. Tell them you'll commit if you're given a specific amount, assuming it's not absurd.Itstatertot wrote:Definitely don't think I want to take a risk in waiting after the deposit deadline, but I don't have substantial leverage :/ Really would commit to UT with some sort of an increase because I loved the school so much when I visited. Do you think its worth using my chance at the matching program/begging? ahhah

Think they'll do anything as a result of a WUSTL scholarship? I doubt they'd match but I'm hoping they'll at least bring their COA down to within reason.

I'm interested in the same thing. I have some 1/2 tuition offers at lower T14 schools, but a full ride at WashU. Would love to hear if anyone had any luck with a WashU offer.RancidSumo wrote:Think they'll do anything as a result of a WUSTL scholarship? I had success with the matching program with a less-than-full-ride offer from WUSTL, but this was last cycle and after I had double deposited.

Anyone know about scholarship availability for those pulled from the waitlist?

I've heard Austin is a great dog city so do any of the popular places to live allow dogs? I have a lab who will obviously be coming with me so if I end up at UT, I'm going to need a place that he can stay too.
Also, on a different note, is there any easy way to get from some place called Omni Barton Creek to downtown Austin? I'm going to a conference there in a couple weeks and I'd like to get into the city at some point to see the campus. I'm guessing it's going to be pretty difficult.

I'm not sure there are any identifiable places that are all that popular. Most large apartment complexes will allow pets (with a non-refundable pet "deposit"), but some will have a limit (usually 70-75 lbs) so if you have a male lab you just have to say he's only 65 lbs. Smaller complexes and houses will vary wildly.RancidSumo wrote:I've heard Austin is a great dog city so do any of the popular places to live allow dogs? Barton Creek is well outside of town (probably a $40-50 cab ride, if I had to guess). No bus routes run that way; the only way to get there is by car. It will take about 1/2 hour one way, unless you go at a bad time (like between 2:30 and 7).RancidSumo wrote:Also, on a different note, is there any easy way to get from some place called Omni Barton Creek to downtown Austin? I was asked to write a Why UT last week that was due 4/13. I turned it in last week and haven't heard anything yet. Any idea when to expect a response? I thought it was a good thing, but I know the deposit deadline is tomorrow sooo :/

Do they send scholarship negotiation results by email or snail mail?

Deposited today. Still waiting on aid info from Columbia and decisions from Chicago, NYU, Penn, Northwestern. At what level of aid from Columbia or others would trying to negotiate a stipend from UT be realistic?

Good to know. They emailed me and said that they had processed the request and that I should be hearing from them shortly on the outcome. Any thoughts on how long it takes? I hoping to hear from them tomorrow...lawschool1741 wrote:RancidSumo wrote:Do they send scholarship negotiation results by email or snail mail?
