Just had my interview. Got one question that I was not expecting: "What would you do if you decided not to go to law school?" But other than that, Regulus' interview guide was spot on.
Is there any conventional wisdom out there on (i) average time between interview and decision, and (ii) acceptance rate for those who interviewed?

Yeah, I figured as much. Oh well. Every day it's looking more and more like NYU is where I'm going to be with these pending non-acceptances. First UVA, soon to be UChi, probably Penn to follow lol.

FYI last year, the twitter said on 1/18: "Working on a big batch of decisions, but they will not be going out today. Interviewing means getting the January group out a little later."
Probably the same thing for us since it was the same Friday

Re: Chicago c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
Just had my interview. For those wondering, I was asked:
Why law school?
Why UChicago?
Tell me about a time when you made a difficult decision; what was your decision-making process?
Is there someone in your life who has influenced your decision to pursue law?
If you were not pursuing law, what would your career path be?
...plus some resume specific things about my resume. Overall it started pretty formal and less conversational, but she lightened up by the end.
Good luck to everyone, hope we hear some good news soon!

+1 I'd like to know this too. But the problem is TLS will never be representative of the applicant pool or interview pool as a whole. From the spreadsheet last year the overwhelming majority of people interviewed were accepted, but I don't think we can draw too many conclusions from that. Also, Chicago may be trying to interview more people this year, which could result in a lower interview/acceptance ratio.Clemson772 wrote:What has the A/WL/D ratio been, in the past, for people that interviewed?

If I were gonna throw out a guess, it's above 50% and below 70% acceptance after an interview. That's just my "feeling" though. It helps me to sleep at nightemmybee wrote:+1 I'd like to know this too. But the problem is TLS will never be representative of the applicant pool or interview pool as a whole. I kind of feel like this is like me saying, "great! A three-day weekend will be PERFECT for data collecting!"The-Specs wrote:See UChicago Law's most recent tweet. What a bunch of trolls.

the odds that I actually data-collect are slim-to-none but the odds that I paint my nails five times and finish off the jar of nutella are better than my Cooley odds

I submitted in November and am UR3. No interview yetemmybee wrote:From last year's results spreadsheet it looks like the people who submitted in November didn't get interview requests until late January and then got decisions on 2/15/13 or 3/8/13. But I think we are on a faster schedule this year. I submitted in early November and already had my interview. If I had to guess I think November applicants will hear in this first wave.fivestarfolds wrote:last year's Sep-Oct were notified on the 23rd. I think that they are a few weeks ahead this year so I would expect them to maybe notify Sep through late Nov in the first round?

I'd be surprised if they sent out decisions from home. But someone correct me if they know otherwise.Luchi91 wrote:But they can send info from home lollawschool22 wrote:Are they in on Monday? It's MLK day, but idk if they have that off or not.Luchi91 wrote: Or maybe even sooner? lol
