Awesome, thanks. Fischer actually sounds like a pretty fun setup as well.mu13ski wrote:frank617 wrote:Thanks again to all current students answering questions.
If you choose to live in Fischer or O'Hara-Grace, are you paying the rent for 12 months or just during the school year?
Just the school year. That is one of the main reasons why I did FOG. A lot of other places I looked at wanted a 12 month lease.
In regards to the Overlook (or whatever that new place is called for grad students)... it looks nice. It is a little bit further of a walk than FOG. And too expensive IMO. Everything is included at FOG and it is fully furnished.

Ya, it's really not that bad at all. A lot of people live there and if you don't want to be with law students 24/7, you can live with different grad studentsfrank617 wrote:Awesome, thanks. Also, how are roommates figured out for Fischer? Sorry if this has been addressed, I'm at work right now and haven't been able to read through all the responses.

On football weekends they are social. Otherwise they tend to be quieter. There are a fair number of events that are planned for just FOG residents that usually center around free food.frank617 wrote:

You can get random roommates or request your roommates. The admitted students FB page is good for finding potential roommates

Not that law students are scary, but having friends outside the law school is helpful to maintain sanity.

Hey guys, my application has been on "Application Complete" for exactly a month now. Should I give them a call or something? I have no idea why I haven't heard back for more than a month now.

I'd wait at least two months before checking in. Few applicants seem to hear back within a month and those that do seem to have very strong applications. It was about 7 weeks for me and it seems like most take between 1-2 months to hear back.boosane wrote:Hey guys, my application has been on "Application Complete" for exactly a month now. law school transparency as both 2012 and 2011. Yale is also probably so low because so many of their students go on to clerk, and therefore do not enter the big law scene until after they're done with their clerkship.mx23250 wrote:+1. Comparing each school with last year there definitely seems to be a growing trend, albeit small for some. I'd agree it appears the economy is improving. As a biochemist, I will also pass on running some regression analyses.kyle010723 wrote:Last year the 20th was UCI with 23.2%, and the first one that broke 30% was 14th with Yale, whereas this year 20th is 24.46% and 18th USC has 29.55%. So I'd like to think the economy is improving. Although the engineer in me tells me we need more data to run some regressions, but I will pass for now.mx23250 wrote: Probably both. A jump from #26 to #20 is pretty impressive, but it's hard to know how well ND did relative to the other schools it jumped ahead of until we know the % from #21+. I'd imagine most other schools only increased a couple % at best and didn't enjoy the 8% climb that ND did.

Thanks for the informative response Mx. I'm definitely not a strong applicant with a 170 LSAT etc, so would this imply that I'm possibly be considered instead of being an auto-reject?mx23250 wrote:I'd wait at least two months before checking in. For the record, I'm not a strong candidate at all and clearly got in based on my strong softs (below one 25% and ~25% of the other). Good luck!boosane wrote:Thanks for the informative response Mx. Ph.D is like an auto-admit, the superb grad GPA helps too.mx23250 wrote: For the record, I'm not a strong candidate at all and clearly got in based on my strong softs (below one 25% and ~25% of the other). Good luck!

They do not use grad GPA as much an indication of academic performance...sadly... I sure wish they do though.kyle010723 wrote:Ph.D is like an auto-admit, the superb grad GPA helps too.mx23250 wrote: For the record, I'm not a strong candidate at all and clearly got in based on my strong softs (below one 25% and ~25% of the other). Yeah, I think that's what saved me. Had a poor undergrad GPA but got a 4.0 with my PhD and masters. Probably won't help with scholly $$ but I feel fortunate to have gotten into such an amazing law school.kyle010723 wrote:Ph.D is like an auto-admit, the superb grad GPA helps too.mx23250 wrote: For the record, I'm not a strong candidate at all and clearly got in based on my strong softs (below one 25% and ~25% of the other). Congrats! You went complete again in 2/11 right? Doesn't look good for me then since I didn't have any change in my status yet and went 2nd complete on the same day as you.Kanye West wrote:Decision mDemwith seat deposit numbers alskdbfjdxjfnsjabebd
