I submitted on 11/2, received an email confirming their receipt of my "initial components" on 11/8 and am still waiting on the status checker. Does anyone have a ballpark prediction of when I should expect to get my login?

Bummer. This would mean I'm likely looking at a post-Thanksgiving status checker. Thanks for your response.Nelson wrote:I submitted 10/24, got the receipt email 10/28, and my status checker only showed up 11/10.catmo wrote:I submitted on 11/2, received an email confirming their receipt of my "initial components" on 11/8 and am still waiting on the status checker. Submitted 9/15
Under Review ("Complete") Since 10/24
This is starting to get painful. I keep trying to tell myself that it's somehow a good thing, but I am running out of reasons....

I'm not trying to be cocky, it's just that nothing about someone who applied after or at the same time as you being admitted before you are is inconsistent with you being admitted in the near or far future. I hesitated about announcing my GULC admittance, because it was such a rapid turnaround. That said, in the 4-5 days since then, people who applied at the same time (and with both lower and higher numbers than me) have been admitted.
Someone has to be first, and the people who post here are a small (and disproportionately likely to announce) group of people compared to everyone who has heard back or will hear back.
The truth is, the vast majority of the hold ups are probably benign - neither good nor bad - just things that we wouldn't consider like the person in charge of reading your essays being sick for two days, or them checking out your recommender's credentials, or such things that may take time but that TLS wouldn't know about with any certainty. At the same time it's important to admit that the majority of candidates for any law school's class are maybes... they may push us around on the plate a little, spice up their routine with some autoadmits and some autodings, and then come back and decide we'd make a good fit after all.
Don't give up hope for another month or so. Good news will come your way!

That's pretty tough. I REALLY loved NU when I visited and thought I didn't stand a chance at Mich so I haven't even thought that far. I ED'd to NU assuming I'd get held and then Johann would show me some love for the early NU love but with this surprising decision... I don't know anymore. I do know that I'm booking a flight to Ann Arbor to visit asap (depending on when my boss will let me take time off).Samara wrote:Congrats! Definitely! I think this is pretty good proof that the decrease in LSAT takers will affect this cycle.Strange wrote:With Hopefully's numbers we should be in for a good cycle

I'm in the same position as you. I visited NU back in October, and if you don't fall in love on arrival, you don't have a pulse. I don't know how anyone can beat that location, view, overall vibe. But I haven't visited any other schools yet. The more I read about Mich and Ann Arbor the more I want to go there.Hopefully2012 wrote:That's pretty tough. I've noticed that too. Everyone who has had any type of interaction with Mich has nothing but great things to say. So amped on this acceptance.Strange wrote:I'm in the same position as you. This is starting to get painful. I keep trying to tell myself that it's somehow a good thing, but I am running out of reasons....
A cursory overview of last cycle on LSN seems to indicate that those who submitted in September and didn't hear back in November ended up being waitlisted later in the cycle.

I submitted early October, nothing from Michigan yet, the only reason I'm not really concerned is that so many of you guys haven't heard back either...

I hate to agree with this but HP is probably right. It's not like they haven't had time to read our applications. Oh well. Hopefully they think our apps are just so strong that there is no way we'd turn down big money at CCNHawkeye Pierce wrote:Yup, same here. Starting to get annoyed now!T00L wrote:Submitted 9/15
