In as of today. $$$.
Out of state, RD, submitted late September, wrote a Why UVA.
I'm rather excited. I'll probably be visiting there sometime this winter.

More perspective on my application:
Above both 75th percentiles, in-state resident, wrote what I feel was a strong Why Virginia essay. Also received scholly, if that has anything to do with it.

Congratulations! I haven't been on this thread since I heard they wouldn't be looking at RD until January. I guess I will have to stay tuned now.AspiringAcademic wrote:In as of today. $$$.

Congrats! LSAC sent out my application before Thanksgiving (UVA received it Nov. 21st) and I still don't have a "complete" or "under review" in my Application Status, hm...

My file went complete about two weeks ago but, like many others, I'm starting to freak out because I didn't write a "Why UVA." Is it too late to submit one, or still worth it? I applied RD and my numbers are 175/3.81. Thanks for your input!

there are very few circumstances under which a person with your numbers should freak out about anything... & not having written a why x essay for UVA is not one of them. Sit back and enjoy the cycle your hard work producedMissElphaba wrote:My file went complete about two weeks ago but, like many others, I'm starting to freak out because I didn't write a "Why UVA." Anyone know how much scholarship movement there is after an acceptance w/ out an initial offer? I read they reconsider at some point in the future, but I'm guessing that of the percentage of scholarships they give out overall, a very small percentage of those are after acceptances (and no initial offer).

Got into UVA Law as of 12/07; there was no mention of scholarship money via phone conversation. Does anyone know if scholarship information is included in application package? I assume I'll be waiting a few days before mine arrives in the mail...
Thanks

It's typically mentioned in the phone call and in the acceptance packetkcirdor01 wrote:Got into UVA Law as of 12/07; there was no mention of scholarship money via phone conversation. I think you've still got a good chance. UVA is being weird this year - they haven't accepted that many people, and they've offered big money to an unusually large proportion of those they have accepted.AmandaPB wrote:Stiiiiiiiiiiillllll nothing. According to LSN, they've only accepted about 1/2 page of applicants. Last year, they accepted 1 & 1/2 pages in total - so there are still a lot of places available. Although it is probably less likely you'll get big money now.

Virginia status checker is virtually meaningless right? It went complete like a month ago for me but has not changed since.
I saw a post in this thread saying something like only calls and snail mails are their way to inform. As I am currently in China, I guess snail mail for me if I am admitted?
I just hope they can tell me via email. I hate the waiting. My parents are pressing me to find a job instead of waiting endlessly for law school results. They did not think I could get in any law schools. This, plus the waiting, is driving me crazy.
Sorry for the complaints.

Mine never changed or indicated that my application was complete.rachelwang712 wrote:Virginia status checker is virtually meaningless right?

your parents should realize you have a great shot of getting into some great schools with those numbers.rachelwang712 wrote:Virginia status checker is virtually meaningless right? It went complete like a month ago for me but has not changed since.

Maybe they're doing what Mich seems to be doing and waiting on a lot of people who they think will withdraw when they get into other schools.AntipodeanPhil wrote:I think you've still got a good chance. Maybe. I mean, they’re right. Maybe all the schools are stalking our LSN profiles!Nelson wrote:Maybe they're doing what Mich seems to be doing and waiting on a lot of people who they think will withdraw when they get into other schools.AntipodeanPhil wrote:I think you've still got a good chance. I've seriously considered that. I recently had my stats posted on LSN until I realized I'm the only person on LSN who had disclosed those exact stats for this cycle.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
