I don't have these fancy NYU and UVA acceptances y'all have haha...just a nice scholly from Vandy which I will test out this weekend.
I thought the students were awesome, to be honest. It could also have been the particular students I was around for the weekend, but I found everyone to be really engaging and so enthusiastic about their decision. Nobody second guessed their choice. My host was a quality guy.
I hope that doesn't make ME the pretentious one![]()

I'm down to UVA and Chicago, and Chicago's ASW is this Thursday! Eep!slax wrote:What's left for you? I'm hitting Harvard in two weeks so I don't have to wonder what if?dulcatis wrote:Seriously! Visiting is SO IMPORTANT. Which is why I'm not deciding anything until after all of my visits...because seriously, an ASW can tell you SO MUCH that you can never find out through TLS alone.slax wrote:Clearly future generations need to know not to commit sight unseen. And Pereira, you will still have azn who is equally sulky that we're abandoning him

Haha honestly if I had other schools to check out who knows what would have happened. I had an odd cycle, to say the least. I'm excited that the one school I got accepted to in the upper ranks is also a school I enjoyed visiting.dulcatis wrote:

Last night he told me he was 60/40 in favor of Penn. But it's a tough choice, especially since Michigan will probably be cheaper for him (I hope I'm not outing anything confidential, azn!r6_philly wrote:Is azn favoring Michigan still?dulcatis wrote:

The fact that I'm attending should be enough reason for people to mail in their deposits.

I for one LOVED the Penn people I met! That was definitely not a factor in my not choosing Penn.pereira6 wrote:Am I going to be alone if I go to Penn?I thought we really bonded guys!

Er, have fun at Harvard? Seriously though, I had a good time at Penn, and I'm glad to see the myth about no free booze was just that. ASW hardly sealed my decision, it's just good to have that experience in mind as I head to Chicago this weekend.slax wrote:One word: pretentious.r6_philly wrote:Really? What is it about the students? Sorry to see people are abandoning ship on you! I'll have to try Hyde Park out and get back to you on my leanings.pereira6 wrote:Am I going to be alone if I go to Penn?I thought we really bonded guys!

I did not make ASW, but visited on the following Monday. I will be attending next fall.

Yeah same. But when I spoke with the Financial Aid office and Dean Post, they hinted at a ballpark dollar figure to try to close the gap with my Mich scholly. If it comes through, I'm totally therebmore wrote:Waiting to hear if they will throw me a few bucks. 1) Maybe I wasn't looking for it hard enough.
2) Maybe I'm so used to pretentious people that I can only spot the most blatant examples (this is very possible given where I grew up and went to high school).
3) Maybe I'm pretentious myself.
I don't know if you'll find less pretension at Harvard, but I wish you the best of luck all the same. You have some mighty fine options to choose from, slax.

Here's to indecision 25 days before the deposit deadline!
Still waiting on a make-or-break need-based fin aid decision.
Is anyone else in at Penn considering the terrible retake, reapply duo?
