How long can I expected to wait for an acceptance, and when can I begin assuming that I'll get dinged. It's my understanding that acceptances come in pretty quickly. Keep in mind that I received my e-mail on Friday at 6pm Virginia time.
I believe they say 15 days from complete if you're OOS, and 15 days from verification of in-state residency if you're in-state.
That's correct. I was just wondering if it was true that acceptances come in much faster than dings. Some people on TLS reported getting the acceptance call a few hours after receipt of their ed contract while dings came in at the end of the contractual 15 days.

Waitlisted yesterday, stats in profile. I didn't write a why UVa, and I'll probably be withdrawing shortly.

Good luck to those waiting.

Oh, I went complete 11/29.

If I were to do a Why UVa now, would I just send it to the admissions e-mail with my LSAC Number and the essay as an attachment?

OOS RD. Submitted early September with no why UVA. Submitted LOCI and Why UVA a few days ago.

Status Checker still reads "Pending Review / Decision 9/14", as it has for four months.
Congrats!

Maybe that means that those with 9/16 review dates will get calls tomorrow (I can only hope!!).

If you actually want to attend I would say do what the person above did...submit a LOCI and Why UVA if you haven't already...seemed like it worked for him

I hear you, Eskimo. If it makes you or anyone in your position feel any better, I have a UVA 1L friend who applied last year with a Why UVA and MAJOR YP numbers and heard nothing until early March, right after he sent in a LOCI + short statement about his intention to visit in the near future. He was admitted almost immediately with an enormous scholly. Since you wrote a Why UVA and are above both medians (if I remember your #s correctly), I'm guessing you haven't heard anything because they think you'll probably end up at a higher-ranked school. I'd think a LOCI, if you can turn out a convincing one, would be especially effective in your case.

Like you won't get into Chicago, anyway :P

Just updated again today 12/13 to 1/3 to 1/9. Should I expect a decision soon?

yup yup I sent it to lawadmit@virginia.edu with "Request to add attached Essay to JD application" in the Subject heading, and got the following as a response:

XXX, thank you for sending this. I have added it to your file.

Cordel L. Faulk

but that was back in December and I'm still pending review/decision from early November lol

Thank you for the response! I sent one in on Friday night, so hopefully I'll get a confirmation in the next couple of days.

Does anyone who's gotten in (or anyone else) know when the ASW is? I can't find any information about it and I'm trying to schedule visits and whatnot. Argh!

I'm still just sitting patiently waiting for any response. Obviously they've accepted/WLed/dinged a lot of people already, so I just don't know why a ton of us haven't heard anything. But the longer it takes for them to get back to me, the more time I have to fall in love with other schools! :)

Wait... is "File Complete, Pending Review/Decision" the last stop before a decision, or is there an "under review" status in between?

Edit: And congrats to all the new admits!

Ha, thanks. I guess I need to start being more of a nervous wreck. I thought I had another step in between.

dates?

I didn't follow the status checker date changes. I submitted 11/30, went complete a couple days later, and then a phone call today.
