Re: Minnesota 2011
Yeah I've been worried that my new 2/4 review date means I won't get a decision. It makes sense though, I guess, if there are a batch of people you think you have a decision for, and you make a final pass, or maybe it could indicate some other form of decision finalization. But who knows. I'm starting to get worried, but then again two review dates is perfectly normal.
Did any of you admitted people get another review date the day you got a decision?

My stats are right around lots of people who have been admitted, so I doubt (or at least I hope) I'm not in a ding batchtwairlines wrote:Yeah, I hate to bring bad news but I never heard of, or seen, IR change and decision made in the same day for any school. Could be lots of things. Maybe the new review date could also mean some applications they're finalizing later in the day. Who knows.fakemoney wrote:eh, I'm not sure if it makes sense to get a new review date then get a decision. If they were about to send a decision, why would they bother changing the review date first? In my mind, the date and decision status should change at the same time.
Just my crackpot two cents...

We are numbers twins! I sure hope we're not in a ding pile, plenty of people have gotten in with our stats.cinephile wrote:Joining the club. Re: Minnesota 2011
yeah, you should definitely be fine. I don't know what your stats are but I was just commenting on 2 or 3 profiles I clicked. I'm still Ur for 1/28, however my LSAT is below median and GPA above 75%, so us who didn't get the new date may be WL victims soon to come. It's really tricky to predict these things and I guess all we can do is speculate on past trends of UMN and other schools.PomasThynchon wrote:My stats are right around lots of people who have been admitted, so I doubt (or at least I hope) I'm not in a ding batchtwairlines wrote:Yeah, I hate to bring bad news but I never heard of, or seen, IR change and decision made in the same day for any school. Hahaha I love the efforts in trying to discern the meaning of a date change. We TLSers are a neurotic bunch.

Lol, yeah what's worse is that family and friends continually ask when am I going to hear back. IDK, why the F don't you call up the school and ask them yourself!!!! They think this shit is a yes no thing, and if it only were.SherlockHolmes wrote:Hahaha I love the efforts in trying to discern the meaning of a date change. We TLSers are a neurotic bunch.

My IR date updated to a Friday that I thought I'd get a decision, and then was WL'd via email on Monday.

You're scaring me now. Just received disappointing scholarship news from another school, just want to end on a high note today.chrisbru wrote:twairlines wrote:Yeah, I hate to bring bad news but I never heard of, or seen, IR change and decision made in the same day for any school. First post on the forums...
I'm still sitting at IR 1/28. I think its my third date? Curious why I haven't moved to 2/4?? Decision today? Fridays seem to be active.
LSAT: 162
GPA 4.0
From reading your posts, looks like my GPA may be more beneficial than I had initially anticipated. I've been accepted at Iowa and WL at Wisconson. MN is my #1, tho.

I'd say you probably have a pretty good shot. As far as decisions go, I haven't seen anyone report acceptances from UMN in a while, here or on LSN.

Just looked at your LSN - did you really spend Christmas sending in a ton of apps? haha
I would imagine that if you show interest they should pull you off the waitlist no problem.

Re: Minnesota 2011
I sent my LOCI 3 days after being WL'd; I assume they're going to wait until the application deadline gets closer before pulling people off WL. Remember (in the case of 170+, etc) Yale, Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford are still accepting applications and sending out decisions. If MN is really all about YP this year, they're going to wait a few more weeks before dipping into the waitlist, me-thinks.

That's what I'm banking on, pretty much the only school where my GPA wasn't really below the 25th, thought I was in for sure.

So the more I look in to Minnesota, the more I get my heart set on it. They have SO MANY Native American law classes! If I like it when I visit, I'll almost definitely be there in the fall!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
