Yess. Progress. And just before midnight, no less. You work that status-tracker, Carolina. :]
Also, good luck, borntorun -- I've taken rather a liking to you, despite the fact that you once compared my school to Dook, so I hope you get in!
+1, good luck, borntorun.

Anyone else out there have their status change today?
Right now, I can't help but think of the scene from Toy Story, where the claw comes down and selects one alien toy. The claw....

How come a number of applicants are "complete and ready for review" on the heels of April 1st. I understand a number of applicants who are still waiting since December of last year.
Does anyone know the size of UNC's first year class? And what does it mean for OSS applying for a seat this late in the cycle? Or, is it customary that UNC send most of their decisions out on April 1st? According to LSN, a number of students have been accepted already.

Decisions will be going out all through April.

I think that 10 days was within the context of when they will
start sending e-mail scholly offers out, which they have. All bets are off on how long until we get the "no more scholarships e-mail."

oh, gotcha. Didn't know they started sending them....I am pretty positive that they will not give me a scholarship because of my low LSAT, so I've been checking my email everyday with that in mind and trying not to get my hopes up.
Do they start processing Fin Aid after you pay the deposit, or have some people already gotten a letter with their loan offers? I turned my FAFSA in around Feb 20.

Hey y'all, new to this thread. I've been lurking for a while and just saw that someone just went Under Review. While this is encouraging, it's only going to make my Status Checker anxiety increase +1000000. Uhhh....

Let's speculate to pass the time.
How could this connect to the extended wait for March releases?
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... eerjournal
Not enough qualified residents to form a class comparable to previous years? Is it more difficult to judge yield, not knowing how the overall decline in applications trickles down to UNC?
Edit: Fixed URL.

I visited the school today. On my tour, I was the only admitted student--most others hadn't applied yet or were still waiting to hear. This is enough info to probably out me, I know, but whatever.
The building is old but cozy; the courtyard today was beautiful (80 degrees and sunny!). I sat in on a contracts class that was actually really interesting. Our tour guides were great; both placed a high focus on UNC's public interest work as opposed to private sector placement. Both have secured summer positions but know of many in their class that are struggling.
Before I left I asked about when the rest of us would hear about financial aid. They said their head of aid just recently stepped down so they have been scrambling. I asked about merit, specifically, and the answer I received was "not for a long time yet, probably." They're hoping to have it out by April 1 but that's not a firm deadline. I guess that "10-day" email we received 2 weeks ago was not completely true?
TL;DR: I think it's a great school, but the administrative stuff (admissions and financial aid) is borderline ridiculous at this point, compared to other schools.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
