I was accepted by USD in early Feb, but haven't heard anything about scholarships. Looking at LSN, seems like most people in my range were offered 15,000 a year.
How have people heard about fin aid from USD? I shot them an email, but haven't gotten a reply. I've just been getting random mail about living in SD, and other stuff selling the area / school to me.

I was accepted a while back as well, and people with my numbers seem to have generally gotten at least a little something.missinglink wrote:I was accepted by USD in early Feb, but haven't heard anything about scholarships. I've been debating whether to contact USD or not, and how to contact them (do I ask for reconsideration, or do I ask if they've considered it yet).
I'd love some input on this.

I've sent two emails in the past month and neither has gotten a reply. I just get generic mailings from them every few days.

I've had good communication with them. What are you asking about?S de Garmeaux wrote:I've sent two emails in the past month and neither has gotten a reply. I just get generic mailings from them every few days.
I asked for scholarship reconsideration and received a generic email back. Then a little while later I received an email from an actual person.

Wow! This thread just reminded me I applied there! Talk about lack of communication! My file has been completed or under Review since early November!superflush wrote:S de Garmeaux wrote:I've sent two emails in the past month and neither has gotten a reply. Same boat here. Applied in early November and still no word. 170/2.8, thought I would have heard something by now.

It's been ridiculous. They should have at least updated us once or twice. Maybe an email in January about statuses or something. It's a reach for me, but not sure I would attend even if admitted anymore. I hope for the students sake that the other departments of the school are not like their admissions office.superflush wrote:This is getting ridiculous.

Re: U of San Diego Fall 2010
I'm biased when I say this.... because the chances of me attending USD in the fall are very very high. So take it with a grain of salt.
A student that the admissions office put me in touch with basically said that they don't send out any waitlists or rejects until march or april. I know it's already st patties, but they had more apps this year than before. I applied mid-late november and didn't hear until end of february, and I didn't think I was going to hear until march or april.
They've been slow with people whose numbers in their range, but if it's your reach school I wouldn't plan on hearing until after the deposit deadline.
Annoying yes, especially when do many schools communicate better.

This is norm for USD, fyi. I applied last year and didn't receive my final decision until mid-April (I applied in October)

Ouch! I'm going on a little over 3 months. USD is my top choice so it stings just a little bit.twert wrote:good luck, i'm approaching 6 months of completeness.swiard wrote:FINALLY complete after submitting my app in the beginning of January.

Wow man. Why do they do shit like that? I've only been complete for 2 and a half months but I'm pissed off FOR YOU.twert wrote:good luck, i'm approaching 6 months of completeness.swiard wrote:FINALLY complete after submitting my app in the beginning of January.

USD was my first choice but I've been shown much more love from Miami (accepted like 3 weeks after I applied) and now I'm considering putting my deposit down there before USD even gets back to me.

Thanks! It changed to "Decision Rendered" and it took a full week for the packet to arrive.

Re: U of San Diego Fall 2010
Have we thought of just sending an email in begging/asking for our app review since USD is the top choice and seat deposits are coming up soon for other schools.
I really think I'm on to something here
so who wants to send their email in first?

Re: U of San Diego Fall 2010
Anyone have luck negotiating their scholarship at USD? Just got a scholly at UF making it considerably cheaper than USD since I'm in-state. The thought of San Diego for 3+ years is very tempting...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
