Re: michigan 2010 applicants
You are unable to log in for one of two reasons: either 1) you've chosen to withdraw your application after you were admitted (if you believe our records are in error, please contact us immediately at law.jd.admissions@umich.eduand we'll work it out!), or 2) you have reached this site but have not to date received notification that you have been admitted; this status checker is meant only for those who have already been admitted. Instead, to check the status of your application, you should use this status check tool: http://cgi2.www.law.umich.edu/admappstatus/home.aspx.
...this isn't meant for me

Hm... what motivation would a school have to review applications in an order other than that in which they were received? It has to be somehow related to the likelihood of getting in, one way or the other. i.e., they bring either the likely admits or the likely rejects to the top of the pile?
Am I thinking too hard?

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
I talked to a lady in the Michigan law office about something like this. She told me that since they receive hard copies of the LSAC report, LSAC sends them in big batches. I don't think it's out of the question that somebody who submitted 11/2 might have their enveloped LSAC report in the same pile as a 10/28 submittal.LieutKaffee wrote:Hm... what motivation would a school have to review applications in an order other than that in which they were received? My status checker didn't come for 27 calendar days from the date of submission.
My decision, however, came less than a week after the status checker.

My status checker came 26 days after I submitted, and it then took 41 days to get onto the admitted students website. Had I had your timeline, I'd be much less neuroticTangerine Gleam wrote:My status checker didn't come for 27 calendar days from the date of submission.

Michigan wrote:Most candidates will receive a decision within 10 weeks of their files’ completion, but occasionally, we require more time to thoroughly consider an application. Because the timing can vary, we can’t predict a decision date; our goal is to have all decisions made by late April, but the vast majority will be made well in advance.
