Nah, there's no actual "status check," but when a decision has been made you won't be able to see that link to the letter......it'll probably say "view admission documents"dhg5004 wrote:this may be a stupid question but...where on their site do u check your status? i clicked on 'view admissions decision letter' and there is just a letter from the Dean saying i'm on hold and they will make a decision prior to April 30th. Is there an actualy status check button? Like all the other schools? (except Brooklyns i HATE their system)

When it says "View Admissions Documents" (or something along those lines), it pretty much means you're in from what alot of people have experienced. If it still says "View Admissions Decision Letter," and it's the April 30 letter, you're still on hold. I think if it's a flat-out rejection your letter would change to a rejection letter.Guitarded wrote:Means you are on holddhg5004 wrote:oh okay. thank you.

Yes. That is what the person I spoke to at admissions told me. She said I would definitely receive a decision over the next couple of days if my letter says 'prior to April 30th' - which it does.do we think that everyone on hold will have some sort of a decision (WL, Rejection, Acceptance) by Friday at 5?
So safe to say by Friday afternoon.

MyUM tells me it's 24 degrees in Miami right now... Where I'm at, it's -2 degrees and it's been snowing all day long...
Let's hope they send out some offers tomorrow.

Not sure if this was sarcasm that flew over my head, but:Jetsetter wrote:Anyone know if the area around the Dadeland mall is safe to live in?
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/200 ... iami_N.htm
And, of course:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dadeland_MallThe mall attained notoriety as the site of a 1979 drug-related shooting spree during Miami's "cocaine cowboy" era. In broad daylight, two gunmen exited a paneled truck, entered a liquor store and gunned down two men wounding the store clerk. The dead men were eventually identified as a Colombia-based cocaine trafficker and his bodyguard.

very in fact there are some great "expensive" buildings there....metropolis, might be the nicest. I live pretty close like a 4 min drive, amazing area. No night life near there.

Re: In at UMi
You would be fine living near dadeland mall depending exactly where. The thing about Miami is one side of the street can have mansions and the other side can be very rough so its hard to say on that info alone. I went to um ug and personally would not live in dadeland area that's more likely where four students live.
The commute to dadeland during rush hour can take you like an hour!
I'd look at places around red road between us 1 and bird or the other side of us 1 those are relatively. Cheaper areas that are still near school and reasonably safe.
Sorry for grammar I'm typing this on my phone
Pm me for any questions about Miami school or city I'd be happy to answer

Did anyone report having a "flat out rejection letter" thus far?!

Any news today?
I totally thought everyone on hold would have been told something by now, whether it was waitlist or in.... I guess they are going to keep us waiting until the very in, which sucks!

Re: In at UMiami
If I was you I would call admissions. tell them you are about to graduate and leave your undergrad university and that it would be easier for you to obtain the documents they are requesting why you are still at the school.... And see what happens. If you press it a little maybe they will tell you something but at least your status has changed!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
