Do people think that the one ding wave so far included all (or most?) people who didn't make it to faculty review? It was only about 2 weeks after the deadline iirc, so maybe this doesn't apply to people who applied late, like me.

Also, should we be expecting notifications by email at this point or regular mail?

Unknown. WE know we're likely WL or dinged, but I don't know that the everyday citizen knows. So I'd imagine Yale would be kind enough to give at least two weeks' notice before May 1.theconsigliere wrote:what are the chances that they go past the 15th? obviously i welcome/encourage blind speculation
My rapidly diminishing store of Monopoly money is that we hear next week, since they're going to be focused on ASW over the next two days. But I think I've been wrong every single time, so take my guessing with a shaker of salt.

I like the idea of drawing a distinction between people who obsess over admissions timelines on TLS and "everyday citizens."mdnyc wrote:Unknown. Other words for the latter group: sane people, less neurotic than median people, blissfully unaware people, folks who miss out on the true applying to law school experience.WinterComing wrote:I like the idea of drawing a distinction between people who obsess over admissions timelines on TLS and "everyday citizens."mdnyc wrote:

Anyone know when we'll start receiving answers? I expected to be dinged a month ago and yet there are still no answers... I don't know what to think anymore. Is it good that I didn't receive an answer?

What's the policy/ethics on committing somewhere else but not withdrawing from Yale? Can we ethically not withdraw and potentially switch if Yale ever gets back to us?

You can commit wherever you want and keep your app open at Yale, or any other school you haven't heard from (whether it is an initial decision or a waitlist). If you get it, you're free to accept the offer but you will lose whatever money you paid for the seat deposit at the first school. If the school says otherwise, they're lying or being shady enough that they might as well be.grgregregre wrote:What's the policy/ethics on committing somewhere else but not withdrawing from Yale? Asha has posted on her blog about exactly this but I don't have a link. I imagine googling it would turn something up quite quickly.

Yale Law School is an urban legend, guys.
Is it safe to say we are all expecting rejections at this point? Who else applied close to deadline?

I think it's equally likely that a bunch of us will be getting WLs. I'm just hoping it's sooner rather than later. This wait is ridiculous. Any speculation on whether or not they'll be a wave this weekend? So help me if I get a Yale rejection while I'm at Harvard ASW.

I almost want this to happen, so I can remember that I still have excellent options even if Yale doesn't want me.hopeful94 wrote:I think it's equally likely that a bunch of us will be getting WLs. Is there a reason to not commit to one of these excellent options and then just potentially change my mind if by some miracle Yale accepts me?schocolate wrote:I almost want this to happen, so I can remember that I still have excellent options even if Yale doesn't want me.hopeful94 wrote:I think it's equally likely that a bunch of us will be getting WLs.
