Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Rejected. Applied late Nov. Low GPA with strong addendum and 4.0 graduate work; 178 LSAT; strong essays, LOR, and (IMHO) very good 250. Certainly didn't think I was an auto-admit, but still very disappointed.
Condolences to all my fellow rejectees.
ETA ding came at 11 sharp by e-mail.

Dinged. Actually glad that they waited this long, because until about 3 weeks ago, I was extremely dead set on Yale... but now I'm very excited about Harvard!

Yale is just crazy. Reading these ding posts is like reading the Hamilton/Ruby/Vanderbilt posts over at CCN threads.

I wonder what the overall pool was like this year. Though I reckon it's like this every year; it's such a small class... and even though strong applicants are relatively rare there are dfinitely much more than ~250 of them per year.

Did everyone get them at the same time? Mine came at 11 AM sharp Eastern. Are the people still waiting safe for today or think they'll keep coming?

...yep. For anybody wondering, I think that my biggest app weakness was my undergraduate record. Went to a certain giant private undergrad in the Village, graduated in 3 years (AP credits galore), and spent most of my time interning. No minor or double major or honors thesis. My app had an extreme professional > academic focus... To which Yale said "GTFO."neprep wrote:When a law school rejects a 180…cway wrote:Dinged. Hopefully someone w/ a bit of free time will go back through the 2016 and 2015 threads to see if there's a pattern to the ding rollout...IrishJew wrote:Did everyone get them at the same time? Mine came at 11 AM sharp Eastern. Are the people still waiting safe for today or think they'll keep coming?

Also a rejection email today! Not surprised in the least given my 171/3.6, but I may have to frame the official letter when it comes via mail. It's been real, y'all.

Dinged at 11:04. First of my cycle, and can't say I'm surprised it's coming from yale.
Note that I wrote yale with a lowercase y because apparently they don't have the energy or time to capitalize the d in decision in the subject line of the email. For me, that was the only part that stung.
