Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Got it. I submitted in mid-November, but didn't have my off campus interview until just before New Year's. Then my interviewer seemed to sit on her paperwork until earlier this month.bk187 wrote:It's going to be the 8 week mark for pretty much everybody who submitted in Sep/Oct/Nov.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:How are you guys all so sure that you will hear something in this batch?
Do you think I should start pulling my hair out as well? Or will I be in another batch?
Good luck all!

It said for anyone that submitted before Dec, the 8 week clock would start at Dec. 1st.bk187 wrote:It's going to be the 8 week mark for pretty much everybody who submitted in Sep/Oct/Nov.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:How are you guys all so sure that you will hear something in this batch?

I'm pretty much in this same situation, so I'm not quite sure if I should be worried right now. I'd definitely love to hear back with some positive news right now, though!BackToTheOldHouse wrote:Got it. This looks like the massive accept/wl/reject spike between Jan and Feb. Last year there were more wl's than accepts, though thankfully more of either of those than rejects.

bk187, i think you're looking at the wrong part of the graph, we're in the Jan 4 (4th week) spike (which isn't labeled) - looks like a lot of accepts and a decent amount of rejects too.

Hmm bk, I actually think that's somewhat indicative of self-selection bias since we all know that Northwestern declines thousands more than they accept.bk187 wrote:though thankfully more of either of those than rejects.

To the posters above:
1. Yes prob selection bias considering people don't like to advertise their rejections (and that LSN skews towards people with higher stats and they are probably also rejecting all the low stat people as well who inflate their number of applicants).
2. That's the spike I'm referring to (the one between Jan4 and Feb3). I guess I probably shouldn't have said massive considering it's more like the 3rd largest one.
Also, trying to be neurotic as I know emails prob won't go out till 7pm Chicago time.
