(Did you get a call from Dean Ingram? I got in last week but it was via voicemail from Sam Reily and he didn't mention any $$ in the voicemail so I'm curious).
And Congrats Francis!

Yes, I got a call from Dean Ingram, who told me that they had just mailed my admissions package and that a scholarship offer would follow shortly.JJDancer wrote:Congrats!awilson11 wrote:IN with money via phone call!

Haha, thanks birdlaw. I think I can only be patient if I rant on TLS a lot.birdlaw117 wrote:Patience. You will soon, I can feeeeeeeeel it!JJDancer wrote:CONGRATS!!!!!txlaw wrote:OMG! But the truth is, I almost don't want to hear back from them yet. It would feel like eating 2000 cookies and being really really full, so full that you can't even be happy about all the deliciousness you just got.
PS: I got into UGeorgia and GW (alma mater) yesterday

For those who received scholarship info over the phone, does anything appear on your freshlaw status? Something like scholarship letter sent?

Don't worry about me and H, I probably wouldn't have ended up matriculating even if I had gotten in (although that's REALLY easy to say now...JJDancer wrote:Haha, thanks birdlaw. Thanks!!birdlaw117 wrote: Don't worry about me and H, I probably wouldn't have ended up matriculating even if I had gotten in (although that's REALLY easy to say now...). I'm just hoping for some good news from Columbia soon... I'll let you know!
SUPER CONGRATS on those (I had already seen on LSN)!!! Why can't UCLA or USC just accept you already?!? We both know it's inevitable (at least I do).
Will the NYU vs (potentially) CLS decision be difficult for you or do you have a clear fave?
Sending lots of good luck your way for CLS!!
It's weird though, you're a semi-splitter at worst (not even) so it's strange how long it is taking to hear back from some places. Still, no news is better than bad news. (This is how I think about UCLA/USC).

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I'm sure its been discussed a million times here and elsewhere, but I'm just joining this thread and wondering how much of an in-state boost people think UT gives. I'm at 3.65/166 resident, and UT is by far my top choice. I have a feeling its a toss-up.
Also, I just applied a couple weeks ago but haven't gotten a status checker yet. Is that normal?

Yes, that's normal. I applied 12/23, got status checker on 1/6, accepted 1/24.AP-375 wrote:I'm sure its been discussed a million times here and elsewhere, but I'm just joining this thread and wondering how much of an in-state boost people think UT gives. Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
It's hard to say. I'm 3.63(3.68 updated that I notified them about, but they hadn't received the official trans. at time of decision)/167, resident, and accepted. Granted, I applied in early December; I don't know how timing affects UT adcomm. My sense is that in-state in general makes it easier, but it's impossible to say how that works out in individual cases.AP-375 wrote:I'm sure its been discussed a million times here and elsewhere, but I'm just joining this thread and wondering how much of an in-state boost people think UT gives. Thanks. I've been all over that, and it makes me nervous, hopeful, and uneasy about the whole thing.francisConn wrote:It's hard to say. I got in with really similar numbers (3.68 and 167). Good luck I know the waiting sucks.AP-375 wrote:I'm sure its been discussed a million times here and elsewhere, but I'm just joining this thread and wondering how much of an in-state boost people think UT gives. Not to be a downer, but I was working with 3.6 and 166 (in state) and got rejected this week. Best of luck to you though buddy!12thman2011 wrote:I got in with really similar numbers (3.68 and 167). I think around these numbers (166/3.6ish/in state) softs, PS, LORs finally come into play for UT. I wonder if any adcomm read my LSAT writing section, lol. I hope not.

Thanks for all the positive responses, team. I feel pretty good about my softs and application as a whole, so we'll see if they do too.francisConn wrote:I think around these numbers (166/3.6ish/in state) softs, PS, LORs finally come into play for UT.
