innnnnnteresting...
So, either you all are (A) part of a 2nd batch of acceptances (B) in the 1st batch, but for some reason not selected to receive that particular e-mail (C) administrative error caused you to not receive the e-mail
I wonder which it is...

I received the email before my acceptance packet in the mail. I was wondering, why are they sending me this? What a tease? And then I read the fine print at the bottom that said if you received the email you were accepted and I was so excited!

Not sure. Because it went to my permanent address, my mom opened it for me. I'll check with her and let you know.
ETA: No postmark, but believe it arrived Saturday.

Sorry, Emory doesn't reimburse for ASW. ATL is a fun city to visit though, totally worth the trip

Re: Emory 2011
I finally got the physical package in the mail today with the $96,000 scholarship letter. I don't know what was taking Admissions so long with the "customized" information though, because I got nothing particular to me . . .
Still, it was a nice gesture that the Dean wrote pleasant marginalia.

Re: Emory 2011
Hi, guys,
I was accepted to Emory (well I guess I was because I got that e-mail about frat house job)
I just wanted to help you guys who are planning to go to Emory law by answering your questions. I went to Emory for UG.
I guess I can't answer anything about law school's job placement or something since I didn't go to law school yet.
But I can answer question about Emory in general and local area!
I just wanted to help out those who are interested in my alma mater!
Thanks

How is public transit/biking? I will be bringing my car but I hate relying on it to commute, I'd rather take the bus and do something productive. What is the coolest walking hood close to Emory, and how is it? And about going out---are the clubs/bars flooded with cig smoke and how do people usually get home (I know the truth is they probably drive home drunk, but what are the other options)?atkpl wrote:Hi, guys,

Designate a driver. The amount of financial risk involved in driving home drunk when you weigh the stakes of one's legal career as well as court fees probably makes a drive on average worth several thousand dollars.ballpop wrote:How is public transit/biking? Re: Emory 2011
there is a metro/bus system but it's not really that useful for getting around town. it's mostly good for getting to/from sporting events. you can always get a cab but you have to call them; you won't be able to flag one down on the street anywhere.ballpop wrote:How is public transit/biking? the neighborhood immediately surrounding emory is pretty nice, and bikeable. it's also close to the highlands which kind of hipsterish. i wouldn't ride my bike at night, though.
smoking in bars has become pretty rare in atlanta, but some still allow it. clubs aren't really my scene but i've heard atlanta has some of the best.

How expensive are Braves tickets? I know that braves fans are among the top three worst fans in MLB, so I cant imagine they'd be much. Im a die hard met fan, so I know that guarantees me nine games a year. So thats a big selling point on the school.
