I know someone who lives there and he likes it. The building is pretty empty right now, though, since it is currently condos mostly. Since they are renting it out now, that will change. The only thing he said he doesn't like is that the pools on the roof are not real pools, they are super shallow. He just hangs out at the 909 pool since it is next door.Sandro wrote:just saw this on craigslist - anyone know anything about 755 broad ? Looks pretty nice and if the craigslist tagline of 1370 for a 2b is right its not too expensive...

They actually told me that the pools on the roof are jacuzzis. The 909 pool is nice and (seemingly) very accessible.

That is by far the most expensive rent in Athens I've heard of in my four years here...

since i'm not going to get a chance to visit, can some people talk more about Athens? is it like Austin at all in that there are a good amount of "cool" working professionals in the area? or will it be mostly undergrad/grad students. either way is fine, i don't really have a preference, just wondering.

Re: Georgia 2011 Applicants
I actually went there and took a look at some of the condos. Basically they were only for sale and just opened up to leasing a few months back (if I recall correctly). It definitely seemed to be a little pricier but the units were very nice and the whole complex was much quieter (she said that most tenants are older people who bought the place to come for football games on the weekends). I also check out the penthouse suits they have which basically just has vaulted ceilings but slightly smaller bedrooms. The pool on the roof did indeed seem shallow/more like a jacuzzi. On the top floor they also had a small fitness center and a common room that tenants can reserve for events. Overall, the place was nice but the the price was not exactly what I was looking to pay in Georgia.Sandro wrote:according to 755 their cheapest 2br is 1375 and is about 775 sq feet... and they go up to $3k

I have 2 1L friends (male) who have 2 bedrooms open in an apartment complex (not sketchy) right next to north campus/downtown for $250 a bedroom. If anyone is interested PM me.

Re: Georgia 2011 Applicants
They have similarities and some big differences:bartleby wrote:since i'm not going to get a chance to visit, can some people talk more about Athens? is it like Austin at all in that there are a good amount of "cool" working professionals in the area? or will it be mostly undergrad/grad students. either way is fine, i don't really have a preference, just wondering.
Austin is a much bigger place (population-wise: Austin metro area has > 1.5 million people living there)
Athens area has about 200,000 people total.
So one is a city (a capital also), and the other is more of a college town. I doubt there will be a large percentage of older working professionals in Athens. Will be more students and people working at the university.
On the similarities side, they are both known for great live music scenes and great bars, etc. And they both have a reputation for being the most liberal place in a big radius

But I think the feel of the places are quite different due to the size difference and the stuff I mentioned earlier.

I don't think anyone got in off the waitlist last year. Here's hoping that trend comes to an end.

Same stats here.KatieKat wrote:WL with a median LSAT and >75% GPA
If they truly don't really let people off the WL, I'd rather just have them deny me so I don't get my hopes up.
And yes, I told them I'm riding out the WL.

After attending ASD, I've decided to withdraw. That should open up at least 1 spot for the waitlisters.

From LSN, it looks like they are trying to raise the median this year.KatieKat wrote:WL with a median LSAT and >75% GPA

I feel like I am the only 165 LSAT that got waitlisted by UGA.... weak

$$ at ND, but waitlisted at UGA. It's been an interesting cycle. That's what I get for applying so late.

I wonder how small the "small number of top candidates" really is.

Yeah that's the impression I got too. Oh well, I may just have to take my nice high GPA to Wake Forest instead..Pricer wrote:From LSN, it looks like they are trying to raise the median this year.KatieKat wrote:WL with a median LSAT and >75% GPA
