Fuck W&L, a 3.5 165 gets 20K scholly and I get rejected in 2 days? Maybe I'm just spiteful because it's my first and only rejection but that's still bullshit. Worked out anyways I never would have gone there unless I got a full ride aha who would pay 60K seriously. Even 40 is bullshit.

I'm also going to withdraw. I don't think I'm likely to get off the wait list and pay anything but sticker...

Those of you have been accepted and are seriously thinking of attending, where else have you been accepted? What are your main draws to W&L, and what are some of the aspects you prefer at other schools?

I've been accepted at 6-7 places, but my decision is mostly down to UVA vs W&L. I love the old-school southern charm that W&L has, plus the really laid back atmosphere of Lexington. CoL is really low compared to other college towns. I'm still waiting to talk to someone about it, but the third year program interests me quite a bit too.

W&L has been extremely quick this cycle. I was accepted three days after submitting.

that offer seems absurd, but I'm certain you'll get way better offers.

Adding myself to the thread - got accepted last week, 3.7 and 164, with an MA, still waiting to hear about scholarships. hopefully the letter arrives before the whole of the midwest gets snowed under...

Ok, I have a stupid question, and am prepared for the fallout from asking it, but....how exactly do you withdraw? :? Just email the admissions office? I didn't see any mention of the process in my WL letter.

Ahhh...thanks :-) I figured it was out there somewhere.

Edit: Officially withdrew from the wait list...good luck to those still on it and waiting.

Waitlisted. 164/3.03/Non-URM. I know I should be grateful for the waitlist with my numbers but W&L is my top choice, so its kind of a bummer. Are there any numbers that indicate how difficult it is to get off the waitlist? Im tempted to bug Dean Twitty with my desperate pleas for admission, but this seems ill-advised. I wish there was some way to demonstrate commitment to a school without being totally obnoxious...waiting to get axed from the list is really painful.

Last year they started taking people off the waitlist pretty early. It was mostly reverse splitters though. I don't know what they did later, but they DO take people off the waitlist (I was one of them)

If you are a male then do not plan on getting off the waitlist. W&L is desperate for diversity and females.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
