Any predictions on when the first batch of snail mail will hit mailboxes? Have the people who heard back in PDF form also received a letter?

Haven't heard of a single person receiving a snail mail response.

Did last year's applicants document that timeline at all--email-to-mailbox response time?

That's the thread from two years ago. The only thing worth noting that last year's class thread says is that a guy got rejected as early as 12/12. Not sure what format the news came in.

In the waiting thread from last year, another guy got an acceptance on 12/9 via email (172; 3.7) around 4pm. But it was only one guy, and everyone was nervous/pissed about the slow trickle. Nothing happened the next day.

People were still getting fall grade requests on the 11th, and later in the day (3:23 pm), someone got in (173; 3.61). Nothing else that day, though. And the next day, Saturday the 12th, people got rejections and waitlists via snail mail. That's all I have so far.

And, all the while, a few people kept referencing the year before (2008 cycle) when acceptances kept slowly trickling in until Christmas.

So my hope is that I don't get any mail this weekend!

Yep, I think so. The first wave of rejections and waitlists was dated 12/10, and people got acceptance emails more than a week after that.

Yep, I think so. The first wave of rejections and waitlists was dated 12/10, and people got acceptance emails more than a week after that.

So according to history we should be hearing back tomorrow and some people should be getting some not so happy letters this Saturday. First acceptances came out a day earlier this year than last year so maybe we'll get something today? Haha. This weekend is certainly going to be exciting, for better or worse.

Since the first decisions were released on Tuesday, Nov. 30th (corresponding to Tuesday, Dec. 1st, 2009), hopefully history will repeat itself and they'll let another 172, 3.7 (me) in on Wednesday 12/8 (corresponding to Wed, 12/9) around 4PM

Still lots of EDers with no decisions by the morning of the 17th. Some got deferral letters that day and the next, marked 12/15. One acceptance email on 12/18 (applicant above both medians).

Actually, two acceptance emails on 12/18.

And then a couple acceptance emails on 12/22. No other acceptances after that, and most EDers who hadn't heard back or got deferred/rejected were pretty quiet. If any EDers hadn't heard back by later than that, it was usually because of fall grade request issues.

I think that pretty much sums everything up from here, based on last year's waiting thread.

We have received all the components of your application and are in the process of compiling them for completion."

I wonder what the difference is between "Completion Pending" and "Under Review"? Are they physically putting the paperwork together to THEN review the app?
