the total from the most recent rollcall (that started at 5:30 yesterday) is 21 (counting PN and philly, who are still in, i think). three of the 21 are no-holds.

i don't think they can outright admit all 21 of us ;)

i would predict some more rejections, lots more waitlists, and maybe a couple of outright admits (pick me! pick me!)

% wise they are still about 10 nonWL admits short of the admit %s on lsn the past 2 years... though, that means nothing.

Any possibility they're waiting to make decisions until they hear more about who is attending and who isn't?

I think they've had the time to make decisions about us, so why the trickle unless they're waiting on something?

Also, who had the info that the committee was done?

I said the committee was done from a perspective of total imagination (I imagined all of us pending-holds as being read over by a super secret tribunal and when some of us started to get WLed I imagined that this meant the tribunal had reached its verdicts... pure BS).

Anyways, they do technically have another week or so so its possible that they are waiting on a few files until they hear back from more people. There are a few strong files remaining in the pending pool but more than a few rather weak ones so I don't really know what to make of it. I really doubt that all of us were selected as almost-admits to be held on to in case they feel like making a couple more admits before the deadline. That may be the case for some of us but I think there must be other reasons why held applicants are still pending.
Also, I wonder if combined JR1/JR2 calls become possible at this point. Though I think that people on the waitlist last year still had to go through the two call process. Someone should look into that.

so I looked at the 2009 waitlist thread and noticed that two of the applicants complaining about being in limbo at the end of the week of waitlists were eventually admitted! cool.
For example,
http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... &start=150
kammysay504 was eventually admitted on April 25th though she/he did already have a KB1 (from early April).
Also, it seems people who were waitlisted first started to get off the waitlist around May 15th (some already had an interview and others had not).

I am guessing most people here are held but with a JR1?

I saw a few non-JR1 held people, but I'm getting worried!

Btw, what's the "limit" for how many updates you can send to your folder? I wonder if they'll take regular updates as "oh s/he's super interested" or "DEAR GOD WE SHOULD REJECT HIM/HER NOW JUST TO MAKE HIM STOP". I've heard of people sending in 4+ LORs... wouldn't that just annoy the heck out of them? Or is that okay at "this point" in the process?

There is a Yale adcomm blog about WL. It basically says - I think! - LORs are useless after a point. However someone may want to check... it's about the line between being a WL "stalker" or not

either is too many, unless you have enough significant life-changing updates to warrant them...

I've sent in more than 4 LORs. My mentor/prof in my program advised me to send in a couple after the hold email. Only if they offer a new perspective or talk about something that's not covered in the other letters, though, of course.

Oh, and re: NightHooded's post: I agree that it matters when you submit the letters... This would probably not be the best time. Probably wait until you have a decision, then send.

Not sure about the limit on LOCIs... As long as you have new, relevant things to say...

That's about 1 1/2 cents worth. No refunds, sorry.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
