WL today! At least it wasn't a rejection. Just spoke with admissions (one of the more friendly offices I've spoken with yet, unlike some others that come to mind ***cough***UNC***cough***) and they said that they won't even start making WL decisions until the middle-end of april.

Is anyone who is on the waitlist going to wait it out/hold out the possibility of making 11th hour changes after committing to other schools? I really love Vandy and think I would eat a deposit if I was offered a slot, even if it was at the last minute. Any others in the same boat?

Damn, I can feel your pain. WL is almost more frustrating that a rejection, cause its tough to know when you've found some closure. I guess at this point it'll be good to go ahead and draft a couple different LOCI, plan on sending them at staggered times and maybe plan to visit/interview to emphasize the interest. Well, cheers guys, here's to the long haul...

On the website I think it says Decision Mailed can take 7 days? I wouldn't worry about it yet. Have a beer and chill out.

I have a good LSAT (not great for them though), bad GPA ... and I don't think Vandy has been LOVING the splitters this cycle. I'm just praying they like my WE and essays, and might be willing to take a chance on this one. But you're very right - no news is good news, if they wanted to reject me they would have done it by now

For those admitted, anyone planning on attending their Admitted Student days? They said they'd be sending more info about that and applying for a travel stipend and I haven't gotten anything :O(

I'm basically of the same inclination.

If Vandy comes through (before August however), I would definitely rearrange things and attend if I am not accepted to Cornell, Texas, or UCLA. I've received a pretty big scholarship from a T-20 as well, which I am definitely considering to boot. Still, Vandy is a top school for me. I will definitely be sending in a LOCI.

I was thinking I might actually make the trip...haven't ever made it down to TN so might be fun to check it out I haven't heard anything about signups since the email a few weeks ago.

Wish they'd start sending out those scholarships soon too...

This is a better question to ask. I'll bet the answer depends on what other school we're comparing with. If it is a T14, then probably yes. If it's something else - especially with scholarship money involved - probably not.

For those considering Vandy - another reason to go...

168/3.4 looks like a WL on LSN (http://vanderbilt.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats), but you never know. Softs might put you over the top?

for those trying to find a theory about when vandy sends out certain types of decisions...

i was accepted in the 08-09 cycle in the third week of january. dont put a ton of stock in those theories. not that i can tell you what each of your decisions will be, but just stay stressed (i wont pretend its easy to relax) and watch your mailbox. good luck, all. and if you get in, go to vandy. if you get waitlisted, send LOCIs and go to vandy.

FYI, Vandy-UK is on ESPN Saturday afternoon. Tune in!
