hmm, my complete email was 12/1, and my letter is postmarked 12/1. I don't get that...

I'm not complaining though, just saying...seems like there's usually at least a week between the 2 dates for most people here.

Your app must've hopped its way to the top of the pile and they couldn't wait a day longer to accept you. Congrats :)

yeah it definitely was a surprise too because i wasn't even expecting it anytime soon, given the fact my complete date was 12/1. And I am nothing special - not really a splitter - kind of more median", but my gpa is actually sort of low.
so let this serve to give those hope who are still waiting!

Postmark dates, receipt dates, USPS transit times, mailboxes, purple envelopes......

SNAIL MAIL FTL

I wonder what NYU's issue is with phone calls (a la Harvard, Berkeley, etc.) and emails and status checkers.

maybe because of the large class size?

Not larger than Harvard or Georgetown, and that covers both ends of the T14 spectrum. Also, one might expect a larger school to have a correspondingly larger admissions office.

Snail mail is so indie.

NYU, Columbia, Yale, et al are just smug.

I thought incessant email checking was bad until I moved up a level to incessant regular mail checking for NYU.

Congrats! Checked your LSN profile -- So the letter had a 7 day transit time? Do you mind if I ask what region you live in? Thanks!

In! ED 178/3.49. Letter dated Dec. 1 postmarked Dec. 3, just received today in the Bay Area.

I'm now the lowest GPA non-URM in on LSN.

Sure, no problem : ) I'm in California. However, I'm kind of in a mail twilight zone--things arrive from Washington (State) before things sent from 10 miles away.

Whoops, I'm screwin up, lol (I think it's the celebratory drinking) ---Letter dated 12/1, postmarked 12/4, arrived 12/8

Is there some sort of admitted students link on the website that I'm missing somehow?

I think there is one somewhere, but nobody's been able to log in yet.

it shows up in a little box if you click on the financial aid tab, but won't let me log in.

Is there no "In at NYU" thread yet? As I have learned from the deep and meaningful experience of being IGNORED BY HARVARD, these threads are best kept clean of admitted students talk. I'll start one if other people will join it so I don't look like a loser.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
