General info for those who sent scholly negotiations or waiting on need-based aid. I looked through the c/o 2019 thread and it seems like the action for these decisions came late March, after the 20th. So there's some waiting to do

Also that thread topped out at 30 pages...lol at the over analyzing that has this at 43

My correspondence with the finaid office gave me a time of mid-March, so that would probably be the earliest. Late March sounds about right and is pretty reasonable.

I thought I saw 1 person last year report getting need based aid info on 3/15...but I could completely be wrong.

The way everything is going this cycle, I'm going to hope for today and plan for September 1st.

Yeah still waiting since 11/14 too! Just got into Phi Beta Kappa though, so I'm planning on updating them with that.

Ok so I'm definitely expecting a rejection or at the most, a WL from BU. I just don't have the numbers to get it. Got WL last year and never made it off.

I know no one can know for certain but can someone shed some light on why people who applied later than me with the same or higher numbers have gotten decisions and I haven't? It looks like all the decisions are rejections or WLs (which is where I would fall) so I guess I just want to know what the hold up is!

Finally heard back from FinAid, they did the whole "we'll add your email and offers to your file" thing. Also got told to fill out the need based app, which likely won't help my case since my parents keep claiming me as a dependent on their tax returns >.<

Hopeful this is a week full of movement, on both the admissions and financial aid side of things. I want to know where I'm gonna end up! Although I have started telling people I'll be deciding between BU and BC, so that's a step in the right direction.

so I believe you needed to have applied with your initial application for the PILS. after accepting you, they review. you either get it or you don't.
source: me. I applied with my initial application for PILS and was rejected recently, but offered a generous scholly in its place.

Thanks. The application isn't separate right, IIRC it was an additional essay? I applied early January and am still waiting, so getting anxious of the timeline. Sorry you didn't get the PILS but congrats on the scholly! Is BU still a contender? I saw you were also looking to get the PILS at Georgetown (good luck)!

thank you! yeah, it was a separate essay I think? I can't recall exactly. I doubt they handed out all PILS already but can't be too sure. fingers crossed for you, friend. BU might be a contender; we'll have to see how GULC and NU fare in the financial aid game for my heart. not to mention, I'll be waiting on several waitlists this summer! holllllaaaa
