BRB. Gonna go call the admissions committee and tell them to let gobears in so we can be buds.
This I like. Once a Bear, always a Bear. But really though, my Berkeley emails have been killing me the last few days.

Oh man. I just want to get this over with. I also had a dream about Berkeley last night, but not a good one :( Berkeley please take me!
Someone earlier reported WLs and dings sometimes go out a day early, too so... our waiting may be over soon, one way or the other
This reminds me of Hector's fate in the Iliad: "You yourself are not one who shall live long, but now already death and powerful destiny are standing beside you."

Please, Admissions Gods that stand atop Mount Berkeley, I supplicate to spare me all news tomorrow, so that I may waken with least dim hope come two days time to veer free the fate befallen on manslaughtering Hector in ages past. I will pay, as tribute, oxen and goats clothed in the colors of crimson and bulldog blue, and I shall erect a statue of a mighty bear in every corner of my dwelling. Amen.

Well as long as you didn't wake up sad! Berkeley is pretty fantastic so hopefully you get some good news! I was walking around the campus/Berkeley this last weekend visiting an old college friend and was making way too many Freudian slips about the possibility of returning.
Berkeley is pretty much a perfect place to go to school. Awesome weather, nice campus, good academics, D1 football/basketball (hey I didn't say good football/basketball!) right on campus, cool urban area- probably the worst thing about Berkeley is Evans Hall, no lie.
Outing myself a little here... but what these guys/gals say is true. RE Football: One day... one day...

Good luck y'all! Sending good vibes for good news on Friday.

I think we skipped the 2013 football season right? Right?!

So then it's a solid prediction that this next round of decisions will be released this Friday?

Was super excited to get into Berkeley. I'd like to pursue my JD/MBA with Haas. I had a 3.9 undergrad and approx 2 years of corporate work experience. I am studying for the GMAT now and hope to score in a range to make me a competitive candidate. I heard a horror story of a student who planned to do the same, scored a near perfect GMAT score, and was rejected from Haas after his 1L year b/c he didn't have enough work experience. Does anyone have any insight to this this process? I was always under the impression that the schools would work with you to make it happen assuming you had the stats. Any insight is appreciated.

I am still scrolling, but last year FR2 responses were given on the Thursday (the date given in the email was Friday) so... there's a chance.

Acceptances as well, apparently. But only in the 2nd wave for FR - decisions for the first wave were all on the Friday.

The funny thing is, Berkeley is perhaps the school I'm least anxious to hear back from. I can't imagine going to a school without winter. But it's the rush of the decision, you know?

You're probably right.

Can't speak to dual degree programs, but yes, normally Work Experience >>>undergrad GPA and GMAT score. Granted I went to an Ivy but I know several ppl with 3.3s and 3.4s who got into HSW. Also the GMAT isn't a hard test, much easier than the LSAT. A lot of ppl do well. I also know someone with a 3.4, kind of a shitty GMAT score w/ respect to top schools, but amazing work experience and he's currently attending HBS. The big differentiator b/w applications is work experience.

EDIT: What's your "corporate work experience". Are we talking a front-office role at a very prestigious and well known company? Or some back office stint at some random fortune 500 company?

I'm really hoping to get in because I have weird/a lot of dietary restrictions and California (especially Berkeley area) is reallllyyyy good for accommodating that sort of thing.

Anyone know when the bloodbath of denials came last year? Not for FR. Was there any movement that happened to non FR people right before the deadline?

No movement since Tuesday according to LSN. There was a decent wave of denials Monday though. However, I don't think they were FR.
