When did you go complete?ProductofUnreality wrote:Got the interview request. Not looking forward to it. What did you all use for a backdrop? I really pushed the fact that I'm an artist in my PS and resume, would it be lame to do the interview in my studio to further highlight that?
Also my computer doesn't play audio, do the questions appear in text?
Good luck to everyone waiting and congrats to those that got in!

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! So I shouldn't freak out until mid February if I don't get an interview request (about a month after going complete).ProductofUnreality wrote:I think like 12/18hopefuljumbo23 wrote:When did you go complete?ProductofUnreality wrote:Got the interview request. No problem. I don't think you should freak out until you get wait listed or denied. If you read through this whole thread you'll see people who waited longer than me for the interview.hopefuljumbo23 wrote:Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Oof just finished my interview and every question was on here except 1:rychellemarie wrote:THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!CallMeEccentric wrote:^^LOL I did the exact same thing you did, and I prepared for every single question on this list. Yet... they still managed to ask me a question I hadn't prepped for, so add this one to the list: "Outside of work and school, what are you most passionate about?"TheKisSquared wrote:In prepping for my interview I went through this thread and compiled final interview questions/advice. I've reproduced it here if it helps anyone else.
- Video Interview with unlimited practice time with sample questions. These sample questions do seem to differ from the actual interview questions. Once you start the timer, though, you have to finish. Each session asks you to record yourself answering four questions. For each questions you have 30 seconds to prepare and one full minute to answer. Suggested dress is business casual (Jacket, shirt and tie). If they can't see your legs, they obviously don't care what you're wearing there but... I'd uh stay on the cautious side.
- Admissions seems pretty generous/understanding with awkwardness, and barely anyone here (if anyone) seems to have been admitted without an interview. That said, do take it seriously. Better to be awkward and prepared than awkward and unprepared, right?
Questions found in this thread (THANK YOU EVERYONE). I tried to only pull questions actually used during an interview.
-Describe the best class you've taken
-what is your favorite book?
-what are you looking for in a law school community?
-what motivates you intrinsically?
-Discuss a time you helped someone achieve their goal. (x3)
-What do you do in your leisure time? (x3)
-Discuss a failure in your life.(x2 or 3)
-Describe your ideal law school.
-Why Ithaca?
-Why undergrad school
-What are your hobbies outside of work and school.
-Name an experience that broadened your outlook.
-What do you hope to attain with an education at Cornell.
-If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where and why
-Advice you'd give to a senior in high school re: picking a college major
-What your expectations are of a Cornell Law education
-Discuss a meaningful life experience
-Besides Cornell Law, what is attractive about Ithaca?
-What are three character traits your friends would use to describe you?
-Describe an experience that has broadened your perspective.
All my other 3 questions were already on the list. It's funny, cuz the passionate one was honestly the one I think I answered the best, but we shall see if Cornell likes me or not.
"If you had one day to do anything [in the world? I can't remember the exact wording], what would you do?"
I did NOT use up all of my time and hit the stop button myself. I hope my answers weren't too short. Definitely do the practice a few times to get comfortable with the format, because the awkwardness seem unavoidable unless you make YouTube videos (etc) regularly.

I hit the stop button on all of my answers and was still accepted last week so if anyone is worried about that go ahead and relax lol Just like a PS, I think they are looking for concise answers. If you can answer the question in less than the time allotted go for it. If you just ramble to fill the time they will notice. Hope that calms your worries!TheKisSquared wrote:Oof just finished my interview and every question was on here except 1:rychellemarie wrote:THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!CallMeEccentric wrote:^^LOL I did the exact same thing you did, and I prepared for every single question on this list. Also just admitted! Interviewed Jan. 7.
I saw a status date change this morning (nothing under Decision Status/Date) for those of you looking at your status checkers constantly.

Got a call from an Ithaca number (apparently belongs to the Dean of Admissions). Can't call back at the moment but I assume I'm in?

Any ED Round II applicant here? Submitted on mid-December and still "ready for review." Anyone on the same boat?

Did anyone apply to the JD/master en droit program with Panthéon-Sorbonne? If so, have you seen any movement? My app has been really sluggish and I'm assuming it's because of that

I had a date change with interview requested a few days after my interview, but today I got in and it changed back to ready for review with a new date. There were about two weeks in betweenseanconneryFL wrote:interviewed yesterday. date change today, but still says, "interview requested." thoughts?

Just got the call! Submitted 11/16, Interviewed 1/6
Status changed this morning, went from Interview Requested to Ready for Review. Haven't received an email yet, but was assured that one would be coming soon. They're still making calls to the West Coast today, so if you live in Cali and haven't heard back yet there's still hope

Done!
Describe how you helped someone achieve their goals and what you learned from doing that.
What advice would you give to a highschool student about to choose an undergraduate major?
Describe a meaningful moment/experience in your life.
What factors did you consider when deciding to go to law school?

How long after completing the interview does it take for your status to change? Is the only change from 'interview requested' acceptance/denial?

Mine changed the next day but it just depends when an adcom has time to process your interview. It could be a week or more. Some people get another Ready for Review date change before getting their decisions, others just stay at Interview Requested until they get their decisions.ProductofUnreality wrote:How long after completing the interview does it take for your status to change?
