Are you talking about Law Day? Was planning on it, but just realized it's the same weekend as Davis' ASW. As much as I'd love to stay in LA for USC/UCLA, Davis is offering me what essentially amounts to a free ride. Guess I'll probably be going to Davis that weekend instead.
Yay congrats on Davis!! Maybe we could trade impressions of each school.
And I was wondering if someone was going to this Thursday's reception in SF.
For sure! Will report back in the Davis thread. Fortunately, I've had the opportunity to tour USC so I'm not completely unfamiliar with it. The law building is pretty unassuming, but everyone should make an effort to walk over to Mudd Hall to check out the Philosophy library. It's like something out of Hogwart's.

Yeah! A friend showed me inside Mudd Hall. So nice!
I've heard that the law building is the ugliest building on campus. When I tried to find images on Google, pictures are sparse. Apparently, it's not picture-worthy. haha

It's terrible to admit but I've been unable to commit to any ASW because I'm (now not-so-)secretly hoping to hear back from a certain somewhere...I guess I'm cutting it bit close?

What on earth does ASW and OOS mean? I've tried looking it up and the internet tells me that they mean "Attention Seeking Whore" and "Out of Stock". From the context here, I'm sure that's wrong. Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

Omg I laughed out loud at this!! <3 <3

Close, ASW is Admitted Students Weekend, and OOS is out of state.

"ASW" can also be "Admitted Students Website," depending on the context.

Now I'm wondering what kind of context do you have to be to get to "Attention Seeking Whore."

 I think I just got called out.

LOL I'm in CA but would need to fly to Davis or drive to LA...I'm an over-analyzer. You should see my color-coded excel spreadsheets...

i.e. If you are Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Taylor Swift dancing at an awards show like an idiot, or a Kardashian, the answer is always Attention Seeking Whore.

Edit to Add: I think we just discovered Kim Kardashian's professional title. Kim Kardashian-West, ASW.

to lower some of the tension lets talk about food

one great thing usc has over ucla in my opinion is that it has more "dank" holeinthewall style food options nearby

while ucla's restaurants in westwood arent bad, most are "fusion" or "vegan" or some other pseudo hipster options that are decent but not really authentic or you know what i mean.

usc has el taurino's which is open late and still the best mexican food in Los Angeles.
theres a heavenly pho restaurant on western blvd thats open 24/7
usc is closer to ktown than ucla for kbbq goodness or 24/7 hodori
if youre willing to make the drive out to melrose theres a terrific peruvian restaurant called mario's
all these options are relatively pretty cheap as well

Granted I graduated in '07 (eek I really just aged myself), but there was no such thing as a late night without Chano's Mexican food on Figueroa right next to the 9-0 bar which I heard is closing? (NOOOO!) Best thing on the menu though? Chili cheese fries. Weird, I know. One time at the drive-thru window, the attendant actually stuck his hand in my tray of fries and ate one. That's when you know it's REALLY good.

I'm thinking if I don't see any status change tomorrow I might send a loci...I've been in CR2 since 2/27. But then again, I said that to myself today. I'd love to hear any thoughts? Seems like such mixed reviews on whether to wait until officially getting wait listed...but can it hurt?

Yes. Wish my current scholarship offer were enough to make USC viable for me so I could take advantage of it. :(
