That would be my guess. I hope that means they haven't gotten to the stack of 11's in the 'maybe' pile, and once the last set of files are returned, they'll be able to admit those 12s, and then depending on how many spots they have left, start to admit the lower 11s and higher 10s (pure speculation/optimism)

Re: Yale c/o 2018 (2014-2015 Applicants)
I agree with this as well. Last year the week before ASW we saw a few acceptances for those with early complete dates (presumably those 11s). That hasn't really happened yet - with the except of 1 reported on LSN, it seems that recent calls have been to late applicants (12s) returning from FR.LetsGoMets wrote:That sounds plausible to me, but we'll see. edit: so I'm presuming that they are currently deciding how to divide up the remaining 11s between waitlist, acceptance and rejection

just wanted to point out that 2-3 dozen admits are like 10-15% of ALL their admits. i think it will definitely be less (hopefully that much though, but I doubt it)lawstudent2018 wrote:That would be my guess. Going through the remaining files to cherry-pick the final 2-3 dozen admits.

You bring up a good point - it's probably more like <20 as opposed to 30+. Only time will tell....qwertyTLS wrote:just wanted to point out that 2-3 dozen admits are like 10-15% of ALL their admits. i think it will definitely be less (hopefully that much though, but I doubt it)lawstudent2018 wrote:That would be my guess. QFNP. Last year I think the ASP was on the 10-12, right? So they were admitting people right up to then. Which would suggest we should hear most decisions in the next several days.lc39 wrote:

3/31: Good and bad news from YLS this week. Bad news earlier in the week. Good news later in the week.
3/31: We had a group of files returned early, so a -few- admit calls tonight. Almost not worth tweeting, but to avoid any confusion...
4/1: We apparently hired Professor Trelawney to tell us what to expect this week. There will be no deny notices going out today.
4/2: And finally...admits!!!
4/2: We expect a -few- more admits this evening. There should be more admits and denies tomorrow. We're trying to get decisions out ASAP!
4/4: No decisions this evening. Some good news tomorrow.
4/7: Admits tonight, tonight!
4/8: A -few- admits today. We are hoping to have all decisions out by the end of the week.

I think a few remaining applicants from the overall pool get the call (can't be more than 10-20 spots left), and then those left get divided between WL and ding.
It's going to be a rough week. Good luck everyone

I hope everyone hears at least something this week. First deposit deadline for many schools have already passed. Not a ton of money in the grand scheme of things, but it would be nice if first decisions were better coordinated to avoid cash strapped future students spending unnecessarily. Unfortunately, by its position Yale sort of holds all the cards, though by no means is it all their fault.

So yesterday I picked up my phone from a strange number and I hear CONGRATULATIONS and I'm like…could it be???? And then I hear a robotic "you have won a trip to the Bahamas." Worst. Not 203 area code, but still...

I was good on my embargo of TLS/LSN/YLS Twitter over the last 5 days or however many it was, needing it for my sanity to actually do some work that I had deadlines for. But with ASW so close I needed the reminder of when last year's decisions were made to figure out how long I still had any reason for hope.
Based on the word on the twitter feed from last year, I'm suspecting that the Feb-and-later-submit-went-to-FR rejections are coming on Thursday when ASW starts. That's probably our 6-10's...

Looks like a couple of admits on LSN tonight, so there's still some running room apparently, but wow.

I want to be out of my misery so badly at this point...
Anyone here going to be at Harvard ASW this next weekend that I can look forward to meeting???
I'm starting to plan my life in Cambridge now that I'm finally actually giving up on living in New Haven for another 3 years.

i think that's it for us folks. wl is best possible outcome at this point.

I'll be there. Just riding out Yale till the inevitable ding, but I'm really, really happy with H as an outcome. Not sure a Y acceptance would matter at this point (which is a good thing for me, cause it isn't coming).WhoReviewedThis wrote:I want to be out of my misery so badly at this point...

If it's any consolation, many people will probably be more impressed with Harvard than Yale
