got a call from another school congratulating me and telling me about my scholarship on a sunday, but idk if she was calling from home or working from the office? shout out to them if they're in the office on a sunday and not watching football/drinking mimosas/napping like they could be.

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
my status is UR2 as of today too.
Submitted 1/8
Complete 1/9
UR1 1/12
Surprised to see so much movement so soon after submitting. I'm guessing this is either very good or very bad!

I am in the same boat. Relax. I am sure there is an element of randomness in all this. It is not all scrupulously planned to the very last detail. Our files are probably at the bottom of the January pile. Or maybe we are simply doomed to be dinged and there is no hope or salvation for us. Whichever you think is more likely.leslieknope wrote:Still on UR 1 with the same submit/UR 1 dates as other people ITT on UR 2... what does it all meaaaaaan

Submitted 12/20. UR1 12/29. Nothing since.
I'm expecting a ding though, so YMMV.

I hope this isn't a dumb question but is "UR1" different from "Under Review?" My status checker has said "Under Review" ever since being completed in the first week of January...

Nope, UR1 is the same as Under Review.Life2good893 wrote:I hope this isn't a dumb question but is "UR1" different from "Under Review?" My status checker has said "Under Review" ever since being completed in the first week of January...

So helpful, thanks!

Okay, so we can all agree that the following, from the what to expect when you're expecting thread:
NYU
Application Being processed
Under Review (a few days)
UR 1 (a few days)
UR 2 (date change)
Decision Letter Sent (DLS)
Should actually read?:NYU

I'm expecting a ding though, so YMMV.

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
I think it varies. some people had a date change of one day (1/18, 1/19) between UR and UR1, then presumably they'll have a UR2. I (and a few others, I think) never noticed or had the one day date change.maroon175 wrote:Okay, so we can all agree that the following, from the what to expect when you're expecting thread:

Yup and some people like myself were admitted without having gone through UR 2 at all, so don't lose hope, UR1er's!

Yeah, as long as the note below it saying that the number of UR dates varies stays there. It seems uncommon for people ITT to say UR before UR1.maroon175 wrote:Okay, so we can all agree that the following, from the what to expect when you're expecting thread:

I've been UR1 since 11/5/14. So, it doesn't exactly always follow that schedule.

Anyone know what the turnaround is for deferred ED applicants? Any chance we could hear back in the next wave? Or are deferred apps all put at the bottom of the pile?

Makes sense to me. I haven't heard anyone referencing it just as UR.Beanie14 wrote:Yeah, as long as the note below it saying that the number of UR dates varies stays there. Why does everyone seem to have an UR date of 1/5 or 1/6 (myself included)?
What's the normal lag time between UR 1 and UR 2 (if there is such a thing as normal)?

Probably because that's when the admin officers returned from NYE break and resumed work.Life2good893 wrote:ErgoSum wrote:Submitted 1/1

There doesn't seem to be a 'normal' time lag I think. Some hear back within weeks and some, within months.
