Waitlisted. @ 75th LSAT, 25th GPA. Pretty surprised, they must not have liked my Why Texas essay too much

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Any recent applicants had any movement? I applied pretty last minute before the Mar 1 deadline, but only contact I've had is the auto-email from Dean Ingram saying they requested my report from LSAC (which shows complete)...not expecting an answer yet, but kind of worried I haven't heard anything else since it sounds like others received status checker logins, etc fairly soon after submitting. Any insight appreciated. Thanks!

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
It took me forever to get my SC and even then it didn't update or anything until after a decision. IMO - I would wait it out until the end of the week/early next before contacting. Congrats on the killer LSAT!golden44 wrote:Any recent applicants had any movement? Was this through matching or was it your initial offer?mindthegap wrote:Absolutely floored. Just received a Chancellor's Scholarship.

Sometimes TLS makes me feel like I'm making good decisions and I've learned things I wouldn't have otherwise. And then other times (like today, with all these other ppl receiving $$ emails) it makes me feel like a loser and I wished I'd never found it and gone on my merry way with a mostly full tuition scholly to my TTT.

Full tuition schooly to your TTT might have been the way to go. Tough to say in a vacuum though.IsThisForReal wrote:Sometimes TLS makes me feel like I'm making good decisions and I've learned things I wouldn't have otherwise. When it comes to UT, just have to be patient I guess and negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.

Texas resident - waitlisted before I received my Feb LSAT score (large increase). Now a few points above the 75th LSAT for UT. I am thrilled to have been accepted to Vanderbilt and Northwestern, but UT would probably still be my first choice. Anyone know when they start accepting off the waitlist? Wouldn't they consider me before then b/c of the significant change in my LSAT score?

Sure did, they just said thank you and that they'd notify the admissions committee. Also, sending in a LOCI within the next few days.lawschool1741 wrote:Did you email them about the change in score?ano957 wrote:Texas resident - waitlisted before I received my Feb LSAT score (large increase). I think notifying them of your score increase (congrats!) and sending a LOCI should definitely help you out. If you have the chance and it's not too difficult (ideally before writing the LOCI), maybe visit and sit in on a class. It demonstrates interest and it gives you some good stuff to talk about in your LOCI. I'm not sure how many Texas usually takes off of the waitlist, but if you're now above both medians, I imagine that puts you in a really good place.ano957 wrote:Sure did, they just said thank you and that they'd notify the admissions committee. I don't know how reliable my LSAT tutors information is but he said that last year or two years ago there was almost 100% acceptance off the waitlistidissent wrote:I think notifying them of your score increase (congrats!) and sending a LOCI should definitely help you out. Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
When Dean Ingram called me she said there was a matching program. I looked online and found it, but she also posted in the Facebook group recently about it and said " Our program only compares out of pocket expense relevant to peer programs’ rank."
Who does Texas consider a peer schools for the matching program?

I'm not going to dig it up but the matching program has been discussed a few times recently. Maybe the search function will help?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
