I will help you shovel snow for a year if you hit DLS on my application today (and that decision is a "Yes").

I did a Skype interview with a 2L. It was very laid-back (why NU, resume specific questions, what is the biggest challenge you think you would face in law school, etc.). I used the information on this thread to prepare, which was very helpful: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... w#p7599603Immanueldoesntpun wrote:bumping myself here, I apologize if I missed the info earlier in this thread...Immanueldoesntpun wrote:Hey, does anyone want to elaborate on their interview experience? I had my interview with an adcomm and although I think I answered the questions well, it was over Skype and it was very impersonal and forced. She was looking down taking notes the entire time and it was just weird. Be ready for all the standard questions (why NU?, why law?, questions about your resume, etc.) I also got some odd questions thrown my way - in a conflict with a coworker, how do you best go about resolving the issues? what is your leadership style and what is your best recent leadership moment?Immanueldoesntpun wrote:bumping myself here, I apologize if I missed the info earlier in this thread...Immanueldoesntpun wrote:Hey, does anyone want to elaborate on their interview experience? I am usually pretty confident with my interviewing and have always been told I do well during them. But this one was occa-awkward (shoutout to #pitchperfect). She literally would ask a question while looking at the screen and then put her head down and take notes while I talked to the top of her head.
At least I didn't do this -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_WxcNirNDM

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
on the positive side: there are so few decisions on LSN that I think there has to be a huge wave coming. And, the fact that they moved out the decision timeframe on the status checker makes me think they're at least feeling some pressure from that original frame. Fingers crossed we can get a big wave today!
They also last released a bunch on a Tuesday.
DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
I think lower T14 schools like Northwestern are concerned with the decline in numbers --- pushing back the date for decisions allows them to view more applicants before accepting lower scorers to fill their class. They can try to hit their median numbers before succumbing to accepting lower scoring applicants (like me
)
So you're all aware, the LSAC is reporting that "As of 1/30/15, there are 186,545 fall 2015 applications submitted by 26,702 applicants. Applicants are down 8.6% and applications are down 10.5% from 2014. Last year at this time, we had 54% of the preliminary final applicant count." If this year's applicants follow last year's pattern, there will be approximately 49,448 applicants for the fall class.
See http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/data/ ... ear-volume
I also have heard from a former Law School Dean in the T-50 that the biggest drop in LSAT scores for this cycle has been in the 160+ range (I have not been able to personally verify this data, however). Apparently, the number of scorers with 155 and below has not moved much. So perhaps more kids that would otherwise score in the 160+ range are considering other careers--banking/consulting/etc?
Regardless--- the drop in applicants and supposed drop in the number of 160+ scorers is encouraging news for people waiting on Northwestern and other schools with sub 165 bottom quarters. I would think it's an especially good time to be waiting on decisions as reverse splitters with high GPAs.
Then again, I could also see schools having enormous wait lists just to see if the numbers change.
Thoughts from any lurking experts out there?

The current data shows that the trend has definitely changed for this cycle and that 170+ scorers are down.mshahsm wrote:pjohnstron0626 wrote:I think lower T14 schools like Northwestern are concerned with the decline in numbers --- pushing back the date for decisions allows them to view more applicants before accepting lower scorers to fill their class. 2014 numbers but I do believe the trend is identical this cycle. 170+ scorers are definitely back on the law school train.
