It just means they haven't made a decision on you either way. I have heard it is better than being wait-listed.

Yeah true...is this a sign of bad things to come in terms of the rest of T-14?

Is this just based on the 3.92/172? It's possible that was because of an issue with how the C&F addendum was written, or a problem at the group interview. I'm not saying that either of those are actually the reason, since I obviously don't know the details, but it doesn't seem like the best datapoint to conclude YP from.

Ya I agree that this isn't YP. I'm a reverse splitter 166/3.97 but I was confident based on some admit's numbers.

Lets be real...

With a 164 and 3.64, do I have any chance getting off the regular waitlist?

I go to BC and can get some pretty strong pull my way from the Jesuits.

And I would attend if accepted.

I can log into the ASW, with the following message:
Your Username and Password were successfully sent to your email address.
and then this in the email:
At your request we have attached the username and password you may use to access the Admitted Students Website.

Sooo... what's up here, Georgetown? Am I in? Application is "complete" with the most recent date change being 12/9.

Do we have a consensus on what being able to log into the ASW means?

Just got the held email. 172/3.2

It's kinda funny because I just got in to Penn ED so I was days away from withdrawing, but it hurts a little because as a GW undergrad I have an inferiority complex. Ahh well, whatever.

I'll copy down what I told someone earlier:

As far I as I know I haven't received a decision yet. So it would seem that the message you're getting is certainly not the "default" state.

Not sure if you have checked on the ASW (because I don't know how it is structured), but on the NYU site we checked things like the "change your address" section, or the "register for admitted students day" section. I was able to register for the NYU ASD, and see that my correct address was in their records. Those two things made me feel a lot better about the validity of being able to log in. Maybe try looking for something similar?

My name was on home page. But there doesn't appear to be a section with my address or any other identifiers in it, from what I can see.

Yield protecting. For over qualified applicants they don't think will end up attending, so the % if admitted students that enroll is a bit higher.

Soo anyone want to help break down what it really means to be held? Both in terms of Georgetown and the higher ranked schools?

I bet they can tell, but I doubt they care too much.

Not quite six weeks, but I went complete 12/3 according to their site and still haven't heard/seen anything from them.

Tried logging on to the ASW and got the same "could not generate" message.

Got home to my Georgetown acceptance letter!

Though... The personal note on the letter referenced a phone call. They never contacted me outside of the acceptance letter. So... yeah?

Alumni interview tips:

Should I go business casual?

If I have this opportunity, does this mean that I am basically in?

How soon after the third status date change should one expect a decision? I submitted my app about 2 weeks ago.

Finally have an alumni interview a month after I accepted their interview offer. Any specific advice? Besides the standard why law, GULC, etc.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
