He/She is just so constrained by time... There is the Museum of Science and Industry and the Shedd that are pretty cool. Just may not be able to really see everything there is to see.franklyscarlet wrote:Museums maybe? Plenty of time to hit the art museum. It's a short bus ride from campus. Or modern art is right around the corner.

I'm in the same boat too...high GPA in hard major, low LSAT, masters degree, and 3 years work experience with a top consulting firm. Hoping we find out by Friday. I called last week and they said there were a handful of ED decisions left that should go out this week. I just keep telling myself there were a batch of rejections already so maybe we will get good news!ashockofpink wrote:ED still waiting. Just defer me already for the love of God I can't take the anticipation anymore!!!!!!!
Or...ya know....accept me. But do SOMETHING!!!
Any others in my boat here?
Here's to hoping we are Chicago bound in August!

Read the thread if you want answers to questions like this. Very recently people were complaining about being complete for a long time and hearing nothing. Hardly any RD bros have been accepted yet.uconjak wrote:how long after you go complete and do the interview do you get a decision??? any idea or guess? Got my interview tomorrow.

Status updated to today's date. Maybe my interviewer submitted his comments? It went complete on my interview date, 12/28.

My call two weeks ago said I'd hear by the end of the week. My call yesterday said I'd hear by the end of THIS week or early next week. I'm at the "slamming my head against a wall seems like a perfectly reasonable idea" stage.TLSplitter2012 wrote:I'm in the same boat too...high GPA in hard major, low LSAT, masters degree, and 3 years work experience with a top consulting firm. Also, I truly doubt I'll be accepted ED as NU's focus on WE puts me at a huge disadvantage (still in undergrad), as does my under 170 LSAT (though I'm not hating on my 168). I just want to get deferred or whatever-ed so that I can at least have a reference point and be able to consider my options without wondering if I'm somehow magically going to get into Northwestern ED.

Huh. I just got an email from Northwestern about "Financial Aid Information and Instructions", which was confusing because I have not received any word that I was admitted. I logged in to my status checker and found I have an acceptance letter (PDF) dated 12/19. Anyone else get admitted without any notice?
Not to give false hope, but I might check your status checker just in case.

Re: Northwestern Law C/O 2016 (2012-2013 Applicants)
For (former) ED applicants -- has anyone actually been "deferred" to RD? Or are we using "deferred" and "held" interchangeably? My letter said I was placed on hold but would be evaluated again beginning in January. Some people are speaking of being deferred to RD. I take my letter to mean that I was placed in the same pool as RD applicants who will end up being held, rather than be evaluated again with the RD candidates. Am I wrong? I'd rather be, in this case, since being on hold is not fun.

Hmm, I didn't realize that. I haven't been checking my status checkers very often, I figured it was just a measure the law schools used to get applicants to stop calling them for updates so much. I mean, U of M notifies you first via status checker, but then sends out your letter right away, as well an email. It's weird to expect all applicants to constantly be logging in waiting for a change in status, no? They couldn't even have managed a form email?helix23 wrote:Pretty sure everyone who got admitted. So... I asked for an off-campus interview in November, and I still haven't heard back. I also sent in all my applications in the end of November, and Northwestern's status for me still says incomplete. According to their status check page it mentions my personal statement, etc. I have no idea what to do.

No instant offer of admission with a full scholarship but it went pretty well regardlessteiswei wrote:kill it... get the offer on the spotrisa wrote:Interview in 2 hours....

None of the scary/hairy "give me a specific example of..." or "what was the greatest challenge of..." questions I'd feared from the interview guide Regulus posted. We had a comfortable conversation that focused on my work experience (which I expected since I'm 8 years out of undergrad), why I'm going to law school, why Northwestern, etc. She seemed genuinely impressed with my work experience and she'd participated in some of the clinics and projects at NW that I'm interested in so that made for good conversation. Fingers crossed!

We need to just put this PSA at the top of the page in big, flashing red letters:bzzingbee wrote:So... I asked for an off-campus interview in November, and I still haven't heard back. IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD BACK ABOUT SOMETHING FOR MONTHS ON END, CALL THE OFFICE.
(not counting admission. Waiting 2 months+ is reasonable and expected for a decision.)
I do not understand why people sit on their hands for two months. Something seems to have slipped through the cracks.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
