As the son of a dentist of 30 years, I feel I can vouch for the fact that tooth extraction is far quicker and less painful than this. Maybe wisdom teeth being removed would be a better analogy. Or death by 1000 cuts.

LOL at them finally getting a status checker.PolySuyGuy wrote:ASU sent me a Student ID number. I called everyone and of course ASU law didn't answer. The admissions has no record of me. I called IT and the IT people gave me an activation code and ASURITE ID, and helped me set up my email. It wouldn't let me register for classes, but I was able to look at the law schedule. the financial aid dept had started processing my aid, and I was given an email account. My profile said I was a law school applicant.
I am downloading all the free ASU software before they change their minds. hehehe
If this wasn't ASU, I would be sure I was accepted. Since it is, I say no way.
Did you see ASU finally added a status check link for applications?
Not being able to register for classes isn't surprising. The classes are assigned to you, and we had to register AFTER they were assigned. During that whole process, it explicitly states that you will be admin-dropped if you try to sign up for a different class/time then what they gave us.
This just seems so strange. What do you mean when you say "admissions has no record of me"?
Above all, I hope you receive good news!

Has anyone received anything? I am disappointed an update has not occurred yet.

Nevermind - just checked my email and there it is.
Not sure whether to start celebrating yet, but it sounds like those who got this email will receive an admissions offer next week. I am happy

congratulations. I am tired of being the only one that gets an email from them.jennbear wrote:Nevermind - just checked my email and there it is.
I prefer to criticize them anonymously.
I told them to take me off the list.

So you are done with ASU then? I have been frustrated with this process, but I have to admit, finally getting an admission offer would make-up for last 8 months of waiting.PolySuyGuy wrote:congratulations. My favorite part of the email was when ASU said they released a majority of the people on the waitlist and I was "selected" to possibly be moved off the waitlist next week.

This makes sense why I got the notification of my Student ID number. I think the best way to see if you have been accepted is to check your ASU financial aid and see if it has been processed for 2012-2013 year. Mine has.

At what point did they give you an email address? Did you really turn down Texas to go to ASU? Any chance you go to Cornell ?

I checked and mine was processed too - ironically, today. I assume this corresponds with receiving the email earlier. I really hope we do not have to wait until next Friday to see a formal acceptance. Have a great weekend everyone!PolySuyGuy wrote: I think the best way to see if you have been accepted is to check your ASU financial aid and see if it has been processed for 2012-2013 year. Mine has.

congratulations you can quit studying for the LSAT. We should all get together and throw a "I survived the ASU waitlist of 2012" party. Gaud is invited too. I felt like he walked the plank with us.jennbear wrote:I checked and mine was processed too - ironically, today. You make me laugh. You won't get your packet until October. the invite will come the day after orientation.I really hope we do not have to wait until next Friday to see a formal acceptance.

I agree, celebratory drinks on me! So, did you really withdraw from the waitlist, or are you sticking out the last round?

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
I wasn't given an email until I was accepted. Yes, I thought about Texas, but I have a family here that I'd like to stay by. Cornell would be tough (I have family right by Ithaca) but COA may not be worth it. With my savings and scholly I'll (hopefully) finish at ASU with only around 30k of debt. I think Cornell would be around 200k. Not worth that much more $$$ IMO.PolySuyGuy wrote:gaud wrote:PolySuyGuy wrote: LOL at them finally getting a status checker.

So what's the deal? Did you withdraw? Were you accepted? The whole email address thing is odd if you weren't.

After an unsuccessful cycle last year and my waitlist with Cornell this time around, I certainly feel that way. When's the party?PolySuyGuy wrote: Gaud is invited too. I felt like he walked the plank with us.

What do you mean by Financial Aid being processed? Mine is on the Eligibility and Review tab in the Financial Aid inset. Not sure how long its been on that. Is this where you're checking?
