Just went complete. Only took 10 days--faster than expected. How soon can I expect my rejection?

Congrats, you are withdrawing from Chicago to up my chances of receiving a Ruby right? ha hamedialoop wrote:OMG admit call at like 9:30pm Eastern time on President's Day! SO not expecting that!! (And definitely outing myself here, but now my cycle is over so I suppose it doesn't matter too much anyway!)
For those interested, I was a late submitter (mid January), I did have two academic recommendations, GPA was 3.9x and LSAT 174. I thought my personal statement was quite strong but I really didn't feel good about my Yale 250, so hopefully that will give others hope!
I can't tell you all how surprised I am (I was in line at a clothing store buying a bra when I got the phone call and had to excuse myself to freak out in the intimate apparel section... a little embarrassing). Wow. Good luck everyone!

I'm getting a rec letter tomorrow specifically for Yale. Should I ask the recommender to sent it directly to Yale so it gets there by 3/1 deadline, or should I risk it and go thru the LSAC?

Would Yale mind if I have a rec letter sent straight to them? I'm worried that the letter my prof is sending out today won't make it by deadline via lsac service...
If so, should I just use the address of the admissions office?

Well I'm visiting YLS and HLS next weekend, so hopefully I'll have my mind made up after that and can put a deposit down, so someone else can have my Ruby (although free law school is tempting... talk about choices I never thought I'd have to make).

You know it's been a quiet week when Yale makes it to the third page of forums. But that's because Yale will be making Sunday admit calls for the Oscars, like they did for the Superbowl.

The Oscars is my Super Bowl, so a call today would be perfect.

Re: Yale c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
So I haven't followed this board at all (even lurking really), but I finally decided to apply to Yale a few weeks ago, and then noticed after I applied (on what I thought was the last day) that they'd extended the application deadline. Any theories/facts as to the reason for this and how it will effect our processing times?

CONGRATS! When you say "just got the call," do you mean within the past few minutes?

To readers that have already been accepted to the Yale c/o 2015: CONGRATULATIONS!!!
As an aspiring member of your class, I would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to post your Yale 250 essays or to PM them to me. For some reason I am really struggling with the assignment and would benefit from the opportunity to look at more examples of successful essays. I have already been through the Yale 250 example thread, but think it would be especially useful to get a feel for what essays actually worked this year. Thanks in advance:)

I'm pretty sure there's a thread filled with successful 250s somewhere. It's called something along the lines of "Operation Enduring 250"Geneva wrote:To readers that have already been accepted to the Yale c/o 2015: CONGRATULATIONS!!!As an aspiring member of your class, I would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to post your Yale 250 essays or to PM them to me. So, should I just be waiting for the next round of rejects in a couple weeks/to be waitlisted in April at this point? Submitted 12/4, just trying to figure out if I should stop obsessing over my phone when they tweet about calls going out!

Not sure all the ones on that thread were successful, if I remember correctly.PKozi wrote:I'm pretty sure there's a thread filled with successful 250s somewhere. I won't share my 250 until the cycle's over, but I will describe the process I used. I started by writing three different 250s on topics that interested me (all three were law-related, but that is partly due to my unusual background - my undergrad is in my home country's law). I then showed all three to my parents, who told me which one they thought was best. They then gave feedback, some of which I agreed with, some not. I gradually redrafted it to make sure it was clear and said everything I needed to say. The final version was, I think, either 249 or 250 words.
Edit: I think I probably did more than a half dozen redrafts in total.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
