I've decided on Georgetown!
Has anyone been given merit aid who wasn't first contacted by GULC about being considered for scholarships?

When do we need to send our taxes in? Once our taxes are filed do we have to go back and change the needaccess and FAFSA?

I'm annoyed with GULC. I've sent two emails about my financial aid and still nothing. Definitely just getting over them instead.

Re: IN at GULC c/o 2014
I received an offer for a merit award this week of $35k per academic year. I'm very excited, and likely to accept--all that remains is for my fiance to finalize her work situation should we move to DC this summer.
Unrelated: I haven't seen anyone post here about PILS acceptances (and I've heard squat), but it looks like the author of this thread was selected for PILS. So it sounds like at least one PILS decision has gone out.

Just got my financial aid--only loans and work study. Boo. Unfortunately, I don't have any better T14 offers so it looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the sticker price support thread.

Got my finaid. Tiny "scholarship." Thanks a lot, GULC. Hoping that they'll match some other offers I've gotten, but we'll see.

24k/yr Dean's grant... no merit aid. Still, better than nothing.

I got a finaid grant as well. Anyone know what the decision deadline for those with a finaid offer but no merit aid is? (That is, is it just the regular deadline or is there a special deadline like with scholarships?)

I was under the impression that Georgetown doesn't really match offers--has anyone had any luck negotiating? Do you have to have an offer from another T-14 for them to even consider it (I have WUSTL, BU, and Illinois)?wiseguy33 wrote:Got my finaid. Tiny "scholarship." Thanks a lot, GULC. I got GULC to increase their offer pretty significantly, but it was with two T10 offers. Still can't hurt to try, though.RTFM wrote:I was under the impression that Georgetown doesn't really match offers--has anyone had any luck negotiating? i am looking at the myaccess requirements. It wants the federal loan entrance counseling. I filled this out and had it submitted to Georgetown two weeks ago. Is it showing up as having gone through for anyone else? I'm confused.

GULC doesn't offer international students $ right? If that's the case I should just withdraw.

When do we need to complete the entrance counseling/send our taxes in?

I don't think it matters too much, i heard back in a week after submitting past the 'priority deadline'. hey, loans!Bildungsroman wrote:haha yeah, I remember that Q&A session, and they said pretty explicitly that there was no due date. Well there's a surprise--just got an email about a 30k/year scholarship. I thought I was just gonna get the need-based grant they had already offered. Hmm...
