Good luck, Tonio.

Who else is waiting for an acceptance/denial? I have a feeling it will be a while before I hear anything.

I'd go Mercer. The cost is crazy, but Macon is nice and they have good placement throughout Georgia, although Atlanta may be difficult. Plus they sign your admittance letter with congratulations. I liked that.

Oh wow, I'm soo sorry Tonio! I was really rooting for you. Goodluck with everything. That's crazy that with a 159 lsat they didn't accept you. Still think it's a glitch

Wow Tonio. I'm really sorry.

Look into Mercer. They are 36K, but given the low low cost of living, it would probably be worth a thought.

That doesnt sound right. I was waitlisted with a much lower LSAT and not THAT much higher GPA. I think they leaned pretty heavily on the GPA this year.

Verrrrrrrrry low cost of living, can't emphasize that enough! Cheapest rent I have ever paid for an apt. Went to undergrad and business school there. A bunch of my friends currently go to the law school and they really like it. Also, the town itself is pretty dumb but getting much much better (and it's really 'historical" which can be interesting). I'm still waiting to hear back from both ST and Mercer...good luck

Sorry to hear about STCL, that doesn't bode well for me. I had a similar GPA and a 155 lsat. although its above median, dont know why they wouldn't accept you.

Maybe STCL is trying to pair down its class size to take in people most likely to pass the bar because it has really bad bar passage rates.

Where do you get that info from? It's consistently above the state average for bar passage.

Where do you get that info from? It's consistently above the state average for bar passage.
USNWR Bar Statistics (Winter and Summer 2009 administrations)

Bar passage rate (first-time test takers)

Baylor - 95.0%
Texas Tech - 93.4%
Texas - 93.2%
Houston - 91.3%
Southern Methodist - 89.5%
Texas Wesleyan - 89.1%
South Texas - 86.8%
Statewide - 85.3%
St. Mary's - 83.6%
Texas Southern - 67.9%

This proves my statement. Also, for July 2010 South Texas was 89.02%, which was third highest in the state. This site (LinkRemoved) has results of all bar exams since February 1997 so you can compare schools over the last 13 years.

Based on your numbers you should get in. Most likely won't get a scholarship, but you'll get in.

So, after allowing myself 8 hours or so to get over being pissed, I'm thinking that if my only options remain STCL or TSU, STCL wins. So which of you are still planning on being at the Admitted Student Reception next Saturday?
