Re: University of Houston 2011
oh ok my company is kind of small I already have a letter rec from the VP of finance, comptroller, and my supervisor at my previous employer..my mistake when i said co worker i actually meant someone who is just one level senior to me..she did train me somewhat when i started and i work for her/ with her the most...so would that be a good person to get an additional LOR from?

relax bartleby! if you have been out of school for 2 or more years it's perfectly fine to send LORs from non-professors. And I actually met with a UofH professor who spoke to the Dean of Admissions about how to improve your chances of gettin in off the WL and that was the advice... additional GOOD LORs.bartleby wrote:stop sending in more LORs. why did u send in four non-professor LORsUHPT wrote:oh ok my company is kind of small I already have a letter rec from the VP of finance, comptroller, and my supervisor at my previous employer..my mistake when i said co worker i actually meant someone who is just one level senior to me..she did train me somewhat when i started and i work for her/ with her the most...so would that be a good person to get an additional LOR from?

yeah i just don't see how any more can add to his application if they're all in the same small company.

kind of agree but not because it's a small company. if you've sent 4 LORs I can't imagine that one or two more is going to make an enormous difference. diminishing returns, etc.bartleby wrote:yeah i just don't see how any more can add to his application if they're all in the same small company.

I think UT Law rendered all their waitlist decisions in early April. I wonder why Houston Law is sooooo slow. UT even receives more applicants.

Wow, FIR changed AGAIN! I think this is the 4th time. It was 5/5 previously.
I really don't want to get my hopes up too much but I've been hearing that 4 is the magic number. I dunno.

Yes - I think that's good news. I think it also means you should be hearing something really soon! I heard something two days after my FIR changed for the last time!Chris4943 wrote:Wow, FIR changed AGAIN! I think this is the 4th time. It was 5/5 previously.

Last update was 4/20 for PT.
Just got updated today 5/18 (2nd IR).
If I make it past this IR, I am going to be really surprised.
Best of luck everyone.

No updates for PT since WL in late April. Don't have my hopes up to hear anything before July 1. And am down $300 for STCL deposit.

Got the registration commitment form via e-mail Wednesday afternoon (5/18). It mentions both full-time and part-time sections in the message, but I am not sure if it was sent to FT and PT applicants, or just FT. The response deadline is Friday, June 3rd so it’s possible that additional waitlist movement could come following that date. Good luck to those of you still waiting to find out!
